Hard rocking Canadian product that exceeds the quality of their own managers' recordings (Greg from Treble Charger). Sum 41 is on the cutting edge of merging classic metal and new-school punk. Influences range from Slayer to Blink 182 - and the music nestles nicely somewhere in between. There are radio-friendly tunes as well as edgy sounds to excite the most hardcore mosh-er. A freshman effort that should stir considerable excitement for their sophmore release - coming VERY soon. If they don't get to the Warped Tour this year - know that they should...

    My Score:

every so often a band comes along that is so bad that you actually feel embarassed for the fans and especially the band members...how someone could give this record a 10/10 is just plain depressing...i want to die

    My Score:

To give this review a 10 is absolutly absurd. These guys are the most overproduced band on the planet, and frankly they suck.

How could you give the Clash a 9 and this a 10? Are you on crack? I can't even believe you reviewed this also having reviewed the Sex Pistols and the Clash.

    My Score:

One awesome CD. I don't think it's much better or worse then "All Killer No Filler," but I will say that this CD seems to be more straight punk rock, and very slightly more hardcore then "AKNF," which is more on the poppier side.

Bottles to the ground is one of the LEAST radio-friendly songs NOFX has ever done. It is nowhere near as desperate for money-making as "Makes No Difference," "Fat Lip," "What's My Age Again," "The Rock Show," "Hit or Miss," "My Own Worst Enemy," etc.

First of all that review was terrible. Secondly how could you give THIS 5 stars!?!?!? A 5 star album would be more to the nature of BadReligion's Suffer ,or NOFX's Punk in Drublic. A semi-decent release from a mediocre pop-punk (or so they are called) band is hardly deserving of such a rating. Next time you decide to come on here and review an album bring a little intelligence with you.

I honestly think this band was created by someone to jump in the Blink 182 pop-punk craze...

pure shit.. and the new one is even worse. i bought this cd at a show because they were goood on stage. i was later to find out that their mic system wasnt working and thats why the singer was screaming. i cried all the way home listening to this.

    My Score:

i can say they suck because i've seen them live and heard their cd's, they remind me of backstreet redone to cash in on the blink pop craze, what was awful was that the whole crowd at warped sang along to this band and went crazy when they played but stood still when good bands played, bands like that ruined this years tour by bringing in all the teeny boopers ,and their songs make no sense either, i'd like to see this band break up

    My Score:

Yes this deserves a perfect score for a perfect album, this should be right up there with London Calling, Damaged, Rocket to Russia, Fresh Fruit, Fun House, and Suffer. Very deserving.

    yeah, sum 41 sucks!!!!
i have heard other stuff than that lame fat lip or whatever song and those songs suck to. i saw them open up for face to face and they were terrible live also. but the good thing was that after sum 41 left all the posers in the crowd left also. sum 41 sucks!!!!

    My Score:

Good CD. Having been a fan of this band since May of 2000, I am not one of those lame kids that just jumps on the band wagon to be cool. Since all 3 comments here have been made since Fat Lip came out, I'm going to go out a limb here and assume that all 3 of you simply say Sum 41 sucks because you have heard Fat Lip on MTV or the radio and immediately think they suck because they get airtime. Their new album is definitely a departure from this album, but who cares. If you are honestly a fan of a band, a change won't make you hate them. Everyone should have jumped ship on NOFX on their latest album if that's the case, because its definitely poppy..... so by your skewed logic, they now suck and everyone should hate them because they are poppy. Hey, Dinosaurs Will Die and Bottles to the Ground got airtime too...... you gotta hate em now! (blatant sarcasm)
