When I first heard Moneen, I didn't get it:were these guys emo, or alternative or what the hell? Slowly, I began to listen to this CD more and more and eventually it became one of my favourites. I may still not know "what" Moneen is but I do know who they are: one of the most intellegent, talented and unique bands around. In addition to having super long song titles, The Theory Of Harmonial Value also gives up ten songs that are so different than eachother that you'd think that this was some sort of "anthology" or greatest hits album. From the poppy, "What better way to show your love the a set of broken legs" to the dark, "Tonight I'm gone", the whole album flows together nicely in a delicate balance between chaos and beauty. Some might dub this emo or whatever but to me it's just an excellent meaningful disc. If you've seen them live then you know that the band, can make you feel sad, happy, and can make you laugh, all in one show. Not many bands can do that

coo band. Kinda remind me of a harder, earlier Jimmy Eat World with some Texas is the Reason thrown in. This disc takes a couple listens to warm up to, but after that it's coo. this comment is for all the people that are saying "emo" sucks and "punk" rocks. first off, the band wasn't classified as "emo", and to hate a band because of its genre value is pathetic. untill you can write music as good as moneen, don't be talking shit about them. and also blink 182, alien ant farm, and sum 41 are NOT street punk, they infact are not punk at all. Creators of punk... Blink 182? You idiot, everyone knows Green Day created punk!! they do have on video released but i believe it can only be found on a video compliation (though i forget the name of it)... I saw the video you're talking aboot. It sure as fuck wasn't moneen. I think I saw a video for teh passing of america though. It was on their website. They don't have a video.. oh my God....moneen would never have a video on MTV..they have no hip hop element what so ever...i dont even think they have a video... i think that i saw one of there music videos on Mtv. Isn't it the one with the one guy singing: "i mix punk rock with Hip hop" or somthing like that. And theres lots of american flags and women. The Passing of America is the worst song ever. I don't know why everyone likes it so much. I always skip that track, it drives me insane. Every other song on this album is better than that one. uh, i think he said that some people might call this emo, he called it just good music. learn to read i can't figure out why people label bands like this as emo. bands similar to this are great and this is a great record but it's not emo. fathead.......download the song "Passing Of America" off the cd theroy of harmonial value......not the old cd i dunno, never heard it.- fathead fathead.......what do you think of the cd???? I cant belive sombody would be so imature to give this cd 1's....totally avoid those comments and check this band out You guys are so fucking cool who bashes this band these guys are amazing if you've ever seen one of there shows they are the all time best live band ever.Imagine putting these guys in a stadium sell out, there would be nothing like it.Moneen keep up the good work and keep touring because you don't make any fan more happy when you keep on touring. All the best. Why is that kid even talking about Blink. There has been no comment about them on this page from what I've seen. Oh yeah, and who writes songs about taxes? I've never been to a show with 4 kids at bar. not all indy bands play to "4 people infront of a bar". i passed gas on this band. they suck There has NEVER in the history of music been a better live band than Moneen. Back flips, tastful picking, beautiful melodies with a dash extreme rage, all at the same time. fuck... thast all i can say i can't belive not many people have heard of this band...if you have never heard moneen check out the song damn, this is getting some high marks, i may have to check this mother out.- fathead If you're interested in seeing them then come out to Uxbridge, Ontario on December 14th where they are playing at the music hall with Good Excuse, Allendale, Weak and Determined and Patterns. It's going to be an awesome show! Yah, these guys are fuckin' AMAZINg live. I've never seen any band go apeshit ike they do. When they opened for eric's trip here, the singer guy was literally climbing in the rafters. They get better every time too. I stil remember partying with the band after the smallman tour last year. It made me miss work, but it was one of the best times i've ever had. CD rocks too. Lol...that Oakville show was jokes. For real, this is a crazy album, everyone should try to give it a listen at some point in their pathetic lives. awesome band, awesome cd. they're great live hell yeah, i love these guys. my band was fortunate enough to play with them here in tennessee, and i agree, they are THE best live act i've seen. pretty funny guys. they are super nice too. this whole cd is amazing, no filler tracks, in my opinion. -B. J.- they are so incredibly talented and such nice guys. i've seen them more times than i can't count and they've blown me away each and every one. keep it up guys... If you live in SW ontario, you have absolutely no excuse for not seeing thes guys live. The tour the area constantly, and always give an amazing performance. In fact, they're my favouite live band. If anyone saw the oakville show on the 1st, you know what I mean. In fact, they issued an apology for their show-stopping (literally) antics on their website. However, in my books, they were forgiven a long time ago, and I'd like to thank moneen for helping make that the greatest show ever. Good review, I don't think I could have said it better in that short of time. Moneen is something special in a genre that is often bland i think this is one of the greatest cd's ever made.....if you have never heard Moneen you are missing out... they are unreal |
