Cease Upon the Capitol has always been a class act. Their early releases had a sound comparable to La Quiete, Daitro and other European bands. However, on this album they blend this influence with post-rock and are able to set themselves apart from the rest of the screamo scene.

I thought this was really good, but pales in comparison to their S/T full length that came out last year. fantastico! Have not heard this band, but this review doesn't make me want to listen. is that a vagina on her forehead? i'd say the songs here are too short to be given city of caterpillar type recognition. it's still amazing, though. one of my tops of the year for sure. this is good, but slightly overrated and not quite on the city of caterpillar / circle takes the square level of things |
