| A Wilhelm Scream / The Flatlinerslive in Seattle2007 live show Review by: damnitsderek See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on December 18th 2007
Monday night’s show at Studio Seven was actually the first show where I’ve gotten bored just waiting for all of the opening bands to finish, the Flatliners aside. I’m no show veteran by any means, but one thing that I’ve learned is that I usually find a way to at least keep myself entertained while waiting to see who I paid to see. However, I just couldn’t keep myself from checking the time on my cell phone every so often this time around. Three local bands got the stage first, starting with Down We Go, followed by Rough Chukar, and finally, the Damage Done. When it comes down to it, the only one of those three I could see myself listening to again were Rough Chukar. All that’s really worth mentioning here is that the Damage Done’s frontman looked like he was going to give himself a stroke on-stage, and his dance antics were mildly entertaining in themselves.

Nah, it wasn't really. It was pretty entertaining, every time they said something like that, we'd yell back FUCK FRASIER or FUCK SHAWN KEMP. And I forget why, but he brought up tea, which got a big FUCK TEA. "The biggest knock against them was the fact that they kept dedicating songs to icons in Seattle…that weren’t icons in Seattle anymore (think Shawn Kemp and "Frasier")." If you'd have read any of the comments before yours, you'd know that I put them in order by album, not in which they were played. out of order list. They played The Rip when I saw them. I talked to Nuno and I got the feeling they were kind of tired of playing it every night. There's nothing wrong with that, the new stuff slays! "About 1/3 of the way through the set, someone yelled out a request to play "The Rip" and Nuno told everyone that they "weren't really taking requests tonight". score is for CS. best album of 2007 hands down I couldn't remember the specific order that they played everything, so I just organized the list by album. is that setlist in order? do they really play songs in chronological order? That's cool that they balanced the song selection between the three albums so well, because I like all three almost equally. is that setlist in order? do they really play songs in chronological order? About 1/3 of the way through the set, someone yelled out a request to play "The Rip" and Nuno told everyone that they "weren't really taking requests tonight". Oh, and Citizen_Crack, thanks for the Flatliners setlist. I'm going to be going on iTunes and buying a lot of that shortly. This is a fucking piece of shit review. Score is for the Flatliners That sucks that they aren't playing "We Built this City". Oh well, still a great set and I can't wait for next Saturday. I was also at this show, but I went as much for the Flatliners as I did for A Wilhelm Scream. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed when only two other people besides myself were singing along to their songs. There was also a distinct lack of ska. I don't quite remember their set list but these are the songs I remember, in no particular order: Dreaming Of Throwing Up is their best song. And why have I yet to see "We Built This City" on any of their set lists? they play pretty much the same set every night I just Saw Wilhelm in LA last weekend, there were about 50 people in a small room above a sushi place, but only about 20 people were into it. I felt kind of bad for the band, but it was an amazing show. Snaged a pick and the setlist. I love seeing A Wilhelm Scream at the Living Room. I'm seeing these guys for the first time since getting into them (I saw them with Anti-Flag and didn't know them at all) in 6 weeks. That setlist is awesome. Flatliners > AWS by a thousand. This is a fucking piece of shit review. Score is for the Flatliners its funny you knock the flats for sending shout out to icons of the past they were obviously jocking and breaking the ice to a crowd of new faces. those kids destory give it another year or so and the kids will be there to see them just as much as AWS! they didnt play "the rip"? |
