Snapcase has become a staple in the hardcore scene during the past decade. Uplifting lyrics, amazing talent and their ongoing beliefs and ideals. But much different than their other hardcore peers..Snapcase puts their own twist to modern heavy music.

This, Snapcases' first full length is much much different as far as sound as their other releases. LGS lending emphasis to a more metal sound. While albums such as Progression through unlearning going for a technical, more smooth sound.

The vocals are a deeper tone...as is the weird, sometimes eerie guitar sound and the very unorganized drum work. It's this record that catches a lot off guard..why such dark music to coincide with such positive lyrics?

It's a solid album..but not my personal favorite. 9 songs in 26 minutes..seems a bit too quick. A definite harder side to this band..check them out in their early days.

i think this album has gotten more than just me and that other guy into hardcore. i totally agree about victory too. they used to put out some good shit. but, hey they kinda lost it with os101, all out war and so on. fuck they suck now. and that's a bummer 'couse they used to be like hardcore. you could count on tony to put out the shit you know. i remember when it was just him, you could call him up and ask about new releases and stuff. but now, man corporate america i fucking hate you.

Victory Records was good before they were VICTORY RECORDS THE BIGGEST HARDCORE LABEL IN THE WORLD and started signing any shite that would sell. The CD reminds me of when hardcore wasn't a fashion (check the guy sporting overalls!) and Snapcase was that weird band that ultimately turned me on to hardcore.

"lookinglasself" might just be my favorite. There's some incredible moments--fifth song, fourth track, whatever its name is, fucking destroys--and is pretty raw sounding, making it sound half way between Gorilla Biscuits and Strife. Whatever, enough intellectualizing. This album rocks.

I might catch some shit for saying this about a Victory band, but this is one of the top ten hardcore albums EVER.

This was my first Snapcase album and it initially turned me off to them. "Progression" however, changed everything.
