| Darkest Hourlive in Brighton2008 live show Review by: dktr See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on February 12th 2008
Bursting from the speakers came the ethereal death metal destruction of Darkest Hour, and they laid waste to all ear drums that stood before them. These and other such clichés will be deployed to describe just how jaw-dropping Darkest Hour were at the Barfly in Brighton.

Ryan Parrish was totally City of Caterpillar's first drummer, and the one that played on everything they recorded. their "image" was their "schtick" back in the day when they were on MIA...they were hardcore kids in a legit metal band...then they signed to Victory. ...then they eventually wore sleeveless Iron Maiden shirts... pretty much nothing has changed...if metal dudes can't get into the music, I'd consider that a pro rather than a con...because I think we can all agree that when a mainstream metal audience accepts a hardcore level band the shows turn into Pantera level dude-bro-mosh fests and suck and their old fans stop going to see them. The drummer was not in City Of Caterpillar but was/is in a band called Suppression (CNP Records) which a very heavy and spacey bass and drums duo. Why not? Up until their last two albums, they were pretty much the American answer to At The Gates. amazing live performance. But saying death metal in regards to darkest hour is not true Score is for Deliver Us, which is one of my favorite albums of 2007. Never seen them live, but based on this, I will be sometime This band always puts on a great live show. Also, I think the drummer was in VA band City of Caterpillar. |
