The A.K.A.s are a band that is impossible to describe through comparison to other bands, because they do something that in theory has been done before, but have put such an original stamp on it that it can appeal to fans of many other genres. Their own genre is garage rock / punk rock 'n' roll, but they sound so different from their contemporaries that it would be hard to even associate them with any other band. So I can't really give you a neat list of bands and tell you that if you like these bands, you would like the A.K.A.s.

I've been waiting to get my hands on this album for ENTIRELY too long. This record gets better with each listen. Not a dead moment on it. Come back to South Florida ... you know who this is. "Nah, T(I)NC is a guy from Refused trying to be the guy from Nation Of Ullyses." Fake accents? I guess you've never heard Mike talk, since that's exactly how he sounds all the time. This is the best CD of '08 so far, and I'm sure will be at the end of the year too. So damn good. THE A.K.A's ARE EVERYWHERE!!! "nah, that was guys from refused trying to be mc5." yah wow this is like nothing i've ever heard before "i thought the international noise conspiracy already combined refused with the mc5." what's with the fake accents on these dudes i thought the international noise conspiracy already combined refused with the mc5. Been looking forward to this album for a couple months now. These are some smokin' tunes lives, and the keyboard adds a serious groove to the mix. Great tunes, and solid solid people as well. Mucho love for the AKAs. haven't heard this yet but this band is some of the coolest people in the punk scene. score is for the band and Springman's old motto, "Friendly Punks." |
