| Propagandhi / Comeback Kidlive in Tokyo2008 live show Review by: Jackisch See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on April 25th 2008
If I were to strip away all the bullshit of pleasantries and pretending that I'm a journalist type, and would just get down to it, I would post Propagandhi's set list, give it a 9 or 10, and then say "FUCK YEAH! WOO!" However, I don't think that's regarded very well these days, so I'll fancy it up in a review.

I know Jackish, but you're not alone, lots of people on this site and elsewhere hates this band and I don't understand why. New song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=q5rvACjURnQ haha man, leave comback kid alone. I hope the review made it clear that I think I was a loser for hating Comeback Kid. I don't understand the hate about Comeback Kid. Well, yeah I kinda get it: Christian, Canadian, Victory. But their music is great, so much fun, they slightly change their sound on every album and it's still awesome. They may not be the best live band in the world, the singer often has no voice half-through the show, but it really doesn't matter cause everyone in the crowd go nuts and sing their heart out on every song. And there are usually a lot less poseurs or hard-moshing-tough-guys than on other "popular" hardcore bands' shows. You've got to respect their ability to make people happy. Okay motherfuckers I know about english colonialism in South Africa, but the point remains that there are a great many black people there, too. Did they go to the show? The expats comment was about the Japanese show in particular. Everyone get skullfucked. I have had the pleasure of seeing Propagandhi a few times over the years, and always a fucking rocking treat. My favorite was in Chris dressed up as a Milkshake in SF. Um, wow. I don't even know what to say to that. I just noticed a small mistake I made. There are millions of WHITE people living in South Africa. Spalmer, you are fucking retarded. And as the people below me have pointed out, there are millions of people living in South Africa. Generations of my family were born here. You're obviously watching too much Discovery where they show you bushmen and wild animals (I have a pet Lion, just to let you know - I ride it to school). from what I could tell there were a ton of white people at the NOFX show in South Africa. Great review! The show was pretty awesome! I really like the new song they played and am pretty excited for the new record! "Potemkin City Limits" is my favorite Propagandhi record. I still need to see the live. Great review! Uhh dude, the whites in South Africa aren't expats, they've been there for quite a few generations now . . . heard of something called apartheid? Nope? Nice review. The show sounds like it may have been a tad surreal with considering the line-up. What kind of crowd shows up for these sorts of shows? Mostly Japanese, or are there a lot of expats? I'm wondering because from what I could tell there were a ton of white people at the NOFX show in South Africa. Does punk have any appeal to those without "western" ties? Man the idea of new Propagandhi songs excites me to no end. However: No Iteration is booooo. frankly, i would be kinda disappointed with that few songs off Potemkin. The new song they played was called "The Supporting Cast". The best part of the show was some guy who was obviously Japanese (you could tell from his accent) yelling "Ska Sucks!" repeatedly every time there was a break between songs and being totally ignored by the band. It was a cool crowd. My baseball cap got knocked off while I was getting shoved around in the front row and some guy was nice enough to snatch it and wave it around until I grabbed it back. Fuck, I can't believe I forgot that they played a new song. They gave the name of it, but I forgot what it was. It sounded similar to Potemkin shit though. Ok review, seems he just doesn't want to offend anyone though Good review. I'm glad CK invited Propagandhi and not vice-versa. I'd assumed they had better taste than that and I guess I'm probably right. |
