Youth of Togay was formed in the winter of 2005 with the intention to address the rampant homophobia in hardcore, finding a place alongside similarly parodic acts like Gayrilla Biscuits and Black Fag. However, one needs to note that despite the highly comedic nature of their songs, they're rather serious about the issues, even donating 20% of the sales of their Tossed Salad Days LP to the Gay-Straight Alliance.

Thanks to Punknews for a very fair and acurate review. And if Karl Hensel says its true it must be....syke. Brian: According to Karl Hensel, at least one of these guys isn't gay. so to address the problem of homophobia in hardcore, a bunch of dudes put together a band to sing about being dick-slurping sluts? isnt that, in itself, homophobic and ignorant? hilarious stuff nothing will ever top Pansy Divisions "Dick of Death" aren't these guys not even gay? Did they actually manage to steal a song from Gayrilla Biscuits? I'm sure that it's not the same lyrics, but I'm not sure how many "Gay Edge Revenge"'s I can take. i have and love both of these records. Isn't this getting reissued on Bridge 9 soon? aren't these guys not even gay? Hardcore deserves this. |
