![]() | Saves the Day / Armor for Sleeplive in Columbus2008 live show Review by: OverDefined See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on May 2nd 2008
The inaugural Bamboozle Roadshow rolled into Columbus, OH last Sunday with a strangely diverse lineup that was mirrored by the diverse crowd it attracted. Scene girls rubbed shoulders with old hardcore dudes and everyone witnessed a wide range of music from electro-pop scene garbage to pop-punk sing-alongs. Oh yeah, and Saves the Day headlined while singer Chris Conley got wasted on stage.

Scruffy - Durijah drummed on jungle city twitch which i though blew song wise and vocally (good instrumentation though). The real drumming though was SCOTTIE REDIX on masquerade,. That guy fucking kills. And then he of course played guitar on jungle city. But im sure you know this stuff. I'd definately like to see them start with their old shit sober, then let chris get smashed and play "kelidascope" and "woe". and the description of Armor for Sleep playing Rock Star for 40 minutes is SPOT ON. that shit was so forced it was painful to watch. i actually kind of dig their first two records. not the greatest stuff out there, some songs are good, but they seem to be trying WAY too hard these days. i solidly agree with the guy below. best set i've seen them play since vagrant america. i was at this show in columbus and i didn't think it was a bad mix of songs at all. they did play quite a lot from in reverie, but they played the first six songs off of through being cool, and some other good oldies. the drinking did get a bit ridiculous at the end, but the extended intro to nightingale was the best 5 minutes of instrumental rock i've ever seen std do. it felt like i was at an explosions in the sky show for those 5 glorious minutes. for the detroit show they did the whole request thing (the printer story is pretty cheesy), though it went back and forth between audience choices and band choices and most of the set was off the first 3 albums. overall it was probably my faovrite std set since the vagrant america tour 7 years ago I agree on the Lydia statement. I'm not too big a fan of STD, but I've heard that their shows are some of the best in terms of crowd energy. I'd like to see them but not in such a huge venue. The chick in Lydia is undeniably one of the hottest women I've seen in a long time. did you miss lydia? if so, you missed a hot chick playing piano. their music is good also, well if you're into that kind of shit. damn, you missed out on a hot chick. Score is for In Reverie. I mean it. Apparently, Armor for Sleep defeated the hordes and redeemed their people, although all I noticed was that the guitar player was wearing his own band’s shirt. Durijah's in STD now? I must've missed that. Guy's super fun to watch live, and a really good drummer. this review is terrible. of course i only disgree with the saves the day part, the only part i read. i dont disgree with your disagreement, just the writing and mixed reviews of a good/bad show. just because of an unorthodox way of deciding a set list doesnt make them bad. and i would be surprised if the many other times you saw chris how much he had had to drink. dont let the free shots sent to the stage fool you. the guy sings about booze afterall for chrissakes. score is for through being cool. went to this show in chicago, missed set your goals, armor for sleep were everything you said but worse, saves the day were good. They clearly enjoy playing their new songs more, I think they would play better if they put more in the set and got excited themselves. Do people actually like In Reverie? |
