The BamboozleThe Bamboozle: live in East Rutherfordlive in East Rutherford (2008)The Bamboozle Reviewer Rating: 3.5 Contributed by: TorgoTorgo (others by this writer | submit your own) The Bamboozle? Uh oh, minus 67 orgcore points. Luckily for me, I was able to get a ticket for $25 and it's 10 minutes away from my house; I couldn't imagine paying full price. Anywho, walking around, the first thing I noticed (besides the free carnival rides) was the $7.75 cost for a beer. Maybe .

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones were what many kids that weekend were waiting for. Countless people were saying something to the tune of "I can't believe they're back! I've been waiting to see them for years!" while I was in the crowd waiting for them to go on. I'm not that much of a fan (minus 24 orgcore points) but I know when I'll probably have a good time. And I did for the most part; Dicky was his usual randy self, and how can you not love Ben dancing around like an eight-year-old girl to Hanson in 1997? With all the men wearing plaid suits, they played their songs effortlessly like seasoned vets. "1-2-8," "Dr. D," "Someday I Suppose" and, yes, "The Impression That I Get" were all stellar but large festivals aren't the best place to see them; I felt there was more of a disconnect than any other band playing. Here's to hoping for a club tour. Gym Class Heroes started 10 minutes late, with Travis walking out saying "We came here tonight to have sex with your ear vaginas!" and went into "The Queen and I." They put on an amusing set with appearances by Travis's cousin Tyga and Keith of Every Time I Die. My favorite part was their cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry," and a new song with exceptional guitar work. Towards the end of the set I got tired of the multitude of crowd surfers and trying to rip off their low-top Cons so I left early to catch Coheed and Cambria. The crowd mad a mad dash for the barrier the second they started and I was surprised how vicious the fans and pits were (one time seeing them before, the pit consisted of just middle-aged balding men playing air guitar). After a shout-out to Bret Michaels they played a strong set with fan favorites "A Favor House Atlantic" and "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" in the midst of a light and smoke shot. Of course, the closer "Welcome Home" brought the house down the most, complete with a behind-the-head guitar solo from Claudio. Set list:

TREOS last show EVER was awesome and sad and too short... And they brought Casey back for the set. I was never lucky enough to see the BossTones before they went on their "hiatus" so me and a friend drove up 2 hours from Philly to go. We got their around 2:30 since there was no one worth seeing before then. First band we saw was Anti-Flag and I couldn't get over the fact that they could be such hypocrites. A highlight of the day was waiting at the port-a-potties and someone didn't lock the door, so a guy opens it, goes "Oh shit" and then another guy opens the door says something, prompting the drunk man taking a piss to walk out and go "Wanna suck my dick faggot?" No you get no points. If you dont know the bosstones you can only have negative orgcore points. Score is for Bret Michaels. Up the motherfuckin punks!!! One of the consistantly great live bands out there right now. My favorite DKM stuff was with Mike McColgan anyway, so it made perfect sense that the Street Dogs would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I see them whenever I can, can't wait for the new album This was the only bad set I've seen from the Souls, good thing it was a 1/2 hr fesitval thing. Inspector 7 , Street dogs, 15 min of iamthavalanche, streetlight, ltj, and bosstones were all good. There was more ska than warped 97. dude. I saw alien ant farm, they ruled. you can't over-rate mass manufactured turd (?) Richard Christy the old drummer from Death and Iced Earth, and current Howard Stern Show employee, decided Coheed and Cambria were so good that he'd rather piss his pants than miss a couple songs finding a bathroom. Any regular Stern listener shouldn't be surprised by that. I sure hope you weren't anywhere near him when he'd "had a few beers and lost his inhibitions!" score is for the fact that you didn't see panic! they are underrated on this site, |

I'm in my early thirties now and should probably not be allowed on this site. My three favorite bands are MMB, Souls and Street Dogs, so I felt I had to go to Bamboozle. I'm usually at over 21 shows hangigng out at the bar with a lame Lagwagon or Swinging Utters shirt. I must say the collection of douche bags at this event was sureal. I feel like music now is more about a look than the songs. What's with the over weight chicks with half shirts? Is Goth in again? Or how about the inane practice of throwing CD's and bottles in the air. This was definitely my last festivile, maybe I should grow up and get the new Nickelback...
