It's really too bad. In a time where there are very few bands playing even halfway decent pop-rock type music, Socratic seemed to be one of the few that could pull it off. Their first full-length for Drive-Thru, Lunch for the Sky seemed to effortlessly pair cynical lyrics with upbeat piano melodies and some jazzy breaks here and there. It was nothing groundbreaking, but was enjoyable and had some extremely memorable tracks. Now with Spread the Rumors, they seem to have lost the appeal they once had.

they sucked from the beginning, I really don't see how they could get worse. they sucked from the beginning, I really don't see how they could get worse. for some dyslexic reason, everytime i see this band name i think of Isocracy and get all excited. then i see the drive-thru logo and get depressed. man the reviews this week are horrible Reviewer shiould have mentioned the most likely reason for the demise of this record, Mark Hoppus produced it I believe. One of the ewakest follow ups I have ever heard from a band. The debut had some real nice melodies, but this album just has shit on it. one of the better softcore pop-punk bands. their Just Turn EP was awesome. | Features
