Talk about a supergroup trying to fight off another supergroup. In the winter of 1999, the World Trade Organization, or WTO for short, planned on having a conference in Seattle, Washington. I'm not going to take up review space talking about just how evil the WTO is, or all it's myriad problems, I'll leave that research up to you [a good place to start is the Institute For Consumer Responsibility or the International Forum On Globalization]. What I'm here to do is talk about the content *on* the CD, and talk about it I shall. Please login or register to post comments. What are the benefits of having a Punknews.org account?
Scott I grabbed this EP from the A.T. sale and all I can say is wow... really urgent playing on the parts of Thayil, Novoselic and Mainwal, Biafra sounding like it's the mid 80s again... I'm impressed! Give me convenience or give me death! Was there not, for a short time, a video of said event, available online for a short time on the AT site? For those of us in less high profile battles, it would be nice to see whether Mr Biafra's lips move to the ideas. Any ideas? and wtih the AT sale. the cd is now 6 bucks american or like 4 for the lp/. strike anywhere do political rock right... you are a moron if you think only 3 bands ever have done political rock "correctly"... conflict.... Bands that did/do political punk right - AAA, Bad Religion, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Propaghandi, DOA. There are more. Cant think. My god man, ONLY 3 bands have ever done political rock right, what about DOA(which were mentioned in the review), Propagandhi, and way too many more to mention, Rage come on they just suck. Not too bad considering only three bands have ever done political rock even near right them being Rage Against the Machine, The Clash, and DK. So this almost pulls it off, of course they get a disgusting amount of points for just having a nirvana member andyway so they could reorded themselves hitting and i'd have given it a listen. This EP is fucking fantastic, one of the best EP's I own© Electronic Plantation is a great track, though their rendition of Full Metal Jackoff is not as good as the Jello/DOA one© AT is having trouble because of biafra's lawsuit, plain and simple. 'Put down your crack pipes and come up here!' This is a really good EP. I've had it for about a year now and I still listen to it today. The new songs are damn good for a rock 'supergroup'. Problem is here in the UK its £17 (maybe $23 dollars). Not surprised that AT is having problems cos a lot of people aren't going to pay that just for a few songs. |
