Well I had a bit of trouble getting in but the problem was resolved. It caused me to miss Trial By Fire, so I apologize for that. Through a glass door from the outside they sounded pretty good though.

Second up: 4 piece band F-minus. This is the second time for me and they are a pleasure to watch. Some bands with chicks suck, but not this one. There’s definitely a lot of screaming, but this band pulls it off in the way that is not annoying or out of place. They played “Christy Vanity” and “Vultures” from their recent release “Suburban Blight”. This band also just recently released a split with Leftöver Crack. Check it out.

American Steel (on Lookout! Records) played this fine night too. They are touring for their new record “ Jagged Thoughts”. Maybe I really do live in a cave but I’ve never really heard of this band until now. They were pretty damn good. They had something that made my toes tap and my head bob along to their music. One of their songs had a semi surf/emo sound to it, and that was quality stuff. Their very last song they dedicated to headliners Hot Water Music, who just happened to be up next.

This was also my second time seeing Hot Water Music. This show seemed a bit smaller than the last [which was the Plea For Peace/Take Action Tour, which you can read a review of here], which surprised me. It was crowded, but not completely sold out. Of course it was a school night, so that probably deterred a few potential concert-goers. Like always, the crowd was really into Hot Water Music and at one point they even got to sing along in the mic that was thrown into the crowd. That was awesome, but the guy who managed to get his hands on the mic was a little off key and loud. I do love it, though, when bands take the time to notice they are playing for people and include them in the act. Their very first song had sections that sounded a lot like Jimmy Eat World’s “Bleed American”. This surprised me a bit, but I didn’t care because it was a good song. Some of the songs played were “A Flight and a Crash”, “Swinger”, “Paper Thin” and “Turnstile." The band was as tight as ever, and really rocked the crowd long into the night. I couldn't think of many better ways to spend my Wednesday nights than with this band.

    you people suck, she wasnt comparing anything about hot water music and jimmy eat world other than the riff of the song. come on. my guess is it was remedy? thats the only song i can think of that could be similar, although i barely remember how the jimmy eat world song goes

    Jimmy Eat World? I can't believe hot water music and jimmy eat world are being compared anyway. Don't get me wrong, I really like Jimmy Eat World, but I get a lot more emotion and feeling out of Hot Water's lyrics than I do on ANY of Jimmy Eat World's. "can you still feel the butterflies" give me a break. The lyrics to HWM's "MINEO" are so personal and fantastic... there just isn't a comparison here.

    sorry about being late on the whiny band wagon. hot water music sucks a cock so fat that it makes your mom look as thin and tiny as your dad's cock. yeah, you heard me. oh, and props to the guy who said 'don't compare hwm to jew.' unlike hwm, jew has this funny thing called talent which has this strange way of causing them to produce these funny vinyl objects called 'good records.' don't expect one of those from hwm any time soon.

    I liked your review.

    And you realy did miss something in Trial by Fire. I saw them at the last Wilson Center show here in DC and I must say that they rocked the casbah in 17 different ways.

    As for Americal Steel, love 'em but never seen 'em live. But I'm seeing HWM with bad religion in march. /me drools

    Sheena is a dirty whore, obviously who ever you are you eat a pretty big d ick cause who ever thinks hot water music sounds like jimmy eat world should get aids and die. eat a f ucken' dick seriously hot water music is better than any band you listen too, and live they are better then any band you have seen/and or will see. eat s hit and die you f ucken dyke.

    why is it that whenever someone is reviewing a show, they always miss atleast the first band?..sometimes the second too

    i wasn't at the show in san diego so maybe i don't have any right to post this but the two times i have seen hot water were amazing. definitely my favorite band to see live because of their unbelievible live show. fellow punkers, do whatever it takes to see them if they play close to you, you will not be disapointed. few bands play with as much passion.
