Jay Reatard (né Lindsey) has spent the better part of decade and a half performing in some of Memphis’ better-known independent rock bands. He fronted garage-punkers the Reatards and co-founded the Screamers-styled “blackwave” band, the Lost Sounds. But the Lost Sounds broke up rather unpleasantly in 2005, and the Reatards have been relatively inactive due to Mr. Reatard’s solo work.

dear john, score is for the review, album is a solid 7 I was super hesitant on checking this out, due to all that shit in Toronto, but wow.... this is fucking amazing. The fuck-face who wrote this review said by instead of buy. What a fuck-face. Great album. Great Music. More people should get into this. Great band.... Jay Reatard rules and so does this record. Dan Burke is even less stoked. audience members from a particular show at the Silver Dollar in Toronto aren't very stoked. nightmares is the best song, album is just awesome throughout score is for this reviewer. Great, great record. Check out the singles collection that In The Red just put out as well. And I don't have a clue what you guys are talking about, those 7"s on Matador are awesome. love this record, his new singles on matador aren't very good though imo, and i cant stand the ppl i see at his shows now arw, i love this record. this album is amazing. too bad the recent singles have been, by and large, neither here nor there. I LOVE this album. One of the most fun records in recent years. That's what separates it from Wire: Where Pink Flag is purposely cold and minimalist, this is frantic and pretty overwhelming in its sound. Hard to believe it's taken so long to get reviewed. Awesome record Wire. wire or wipers? |
