Dear Zatopeks: The `50s, `60s and `70s called. They want their sound back. Also, the estates of Joey Ramone, Buddy Holly and the guy from the Toy Dolls called too and they’re pissed. They think you stole their likeness. They think you rock too much like they did. Oh, the guy from the Toy Dolls is still alive? Whatever, he’s still pissed.

Brilliant band, some of the songs are a bit dodgy but on the whole it's just brilliant pop punk with a different twist. Holy cow, has anybody seen the singer's eyebrows? I mean, geez, I'm not all about image, but they are just horrible to look at. Not everyone is as charming and handsome as Ryan Key, lead singer of Yellowcard, but Ryan at least looks like he cares about his appearence. Being a scruffy punk and being British isn't going to win you any fans! The Zatopeks are seriously one of the best straight-forward (meaning not like a Gwar/Aquabats/shtick like that) bands I've ever seen live, for serious. The lyrics to that second excerpted song are fantastic. Too bad this album isn't really for me. | Features
