It might take you a longer time to read this review than listen to the actual album, so I apologize ahead of time for wasting your time.

Not here to "prove a point"; I genuinely wanted help on description. So yeah, I dub thee "fast hardcore". Thank you. This is the only site i've ever seen anyone call Trash Talk power-violence. Does every fucking band that's influenced by Infest need to get the powerviolence tag? I just don't see the connection here, maybe thats because I don't know much about powerviolence other then Infest and Man Is The Bastard. Just call it fast hardcore. I love this sort of stuff, but I've gotten the impression these guys are pretty derivative. This genre of music has been beaten to death by far superior bands; if you really have something to say, why just ape 15-year-old records? What everyone's failed to tell me, is what subgenre of hardcore this is to replace what I said about powerviolence? Not too big a fan of this band. All the people who are jocking this, and calling it powerviolence, should listen to a Man is the Bastard or a Neanderthal record. fucking awesome score is for xshoutoutx I haven't heard this album, but I've seen them live twice, and they completely killed it. Thank you eerf. As for the arguing, I try to make the comment section make up for the boring review... keeps things interesting. Hey man, I knew you were just fucking around. Unfortunately, I like to give people a hard time. No hard feelings. You know what? I usually hate generic shit and the whole "power violence" label makes it sound like something brainless knuckleheads would listen to, BUT I like this; I think there is perhaps more to it that initially meets the eye. Mike, I don't really care as much as it seems like I do. I am just nitpicking. also this is a good review. score is for the review and all the arguing about powerviolence. ceremonys still nothing moves you is better then this in my opinion. will. you are bsd right? They wouldn't if you'd heard any of those bands. Ceremony is closer to power violence than them. "Trash Talk fits what wikipedia plays; I win! Score is for the Aneurysm Rats record. Entertaining. Trash Talk fits what wikipedia plays; I win! "Ceremony are okay I guess but there's a billion bands that do the same thing a lot better that barely any of their fans know about. Same thing goes for this band." Then what is it exactly; apparently, i've been misinformed. Okay, well then Trash Talk definitely isn't. They have a few parts that sound kind of like power violence, but so do AFI on that radio single from 4 years ago. Powerviolence police! "I'll take ceremony over any other hardcore band of today. I didn't want to like this band due to the hype but damn are they good. I'll take ceremony over any other hardcore band of today. I agree, hardcore gets a pretty bad rap by a lot of the viewers and don't really listen to it in depthly. Live show is amazing, album is excellent, and your link title is stupid. More and more I realize that hardcore doesn't seem to have a place on punknews... everyone gets labeled TOUGH GUY or CLICHE, regardless of what the music actually sounds like. My reasoning: they're a bit more heavier, sludgier, and technical than most thrashier bands like Ceremony or Coke Bust hence why I thought this; You can't deny they have powerviolence tendencies with some old school hardcore roots, hence what I said in my review. you clearly have no idea what power violence is. Thought this release was good, but I actually liked the parts where they were apeing Ceremony best and they cut down on that this time it seemed like. really, you think the singer(lee) is boring live? Generic lyrics or not, it fits the music perfectly. I mean, how poetic and unique can you get with blunt hatred? I think they do a good job. Okay band ruined by horrible vocals and lyrics that are somehow too generic even by paltry hardcore standards (how do you do that?!). So good. Not as good as their last two releases though. People like to complain about em them. Specially the orgers. This band is interesting, the music is fuckin crazy, but live the singer is just too boring. IDK, I like the band, but they could be a lot better. Thank you for not nit-picking, sometimes I am deaf to genres. Trash Talk is not a powerviolence band. I'm not nit-picking. Good album, though. This is decent. saw these guys open for the bronx during cmj and it reminded me of pissed of high school kids who got bored of grand theft auto and decided to start a hardcore band. Saw these MOSHERS with Paint It Black in Manchester. A lot of people seemed to be there for them. I just found them annoying and boring. Especially the frontman. I can see what you mean, Brian. Especially considering if it was a little cleaner, you'd be able to hear all the neat stuff that's going on in a little better. OK to watch live. Can't really get into them musically. Way sludgier than what I can take, I guess. |
