Frenetic, mathy hardcore can be a fickle mistress. Carefully balancing technicality with listenablity is a task for which most bands unfortunately are just not cut out. Fortunately for all of us, Pittsburgh, PA quintet Outclassed pull it off rather well on their EP, This Might Be Coincidence....

the guys in outclassed are seriously some of the best dudes i've had the fortune of getting to know, and they definitely have an intriguing sound. i would say organized chaos is a pretty accurate description of what they do. at any given point there's so much going in the song, especially with 2 bassists on this record. Hey dudes...this is Zach from this band. If any of you dudes do pick up the record cool...it's got some awesome packaging...if you want to hear it though it's on soulseek...just share that shit! amazing live show!! 1994! is awesome! These guys played down here not too long ago as well. these guys played my buddy james' house with another awesome pennsylvania band, 1994! 2 months ago. picked this up and it really is fucking awesome. i think it's worth mentioning that this band has 2 bassists, which was fucking awesome live. also, the presentation of this record is amazing, really nice gatefold cover, with a CDr copy stuck in a little slot, and on one sided white vinyl. i don't know about yours but the copies they had on tour included a high quality, black and white glossy print of bassist jon's school picture when he was 16. partied with them afterwards, amazing dudes, crazy energy live, check it out. Yeah I wouldnt really say this is too mathy and not really similar to DEP or Sex Positions. But I don't mean that in a bad way some people may agree with you. This is pretty good. gd skrmz |
