Final Fight, for the most part, plays a modern take on fast melodic hardcore sometimes sounding like Comeback Kid but with a clear influence of their home state of California always present. In fact, sometimes I hear a bit of Fat Wreck influence in the faster parts that bring to mind Screw 32 (there’s a name from the past for you). Regardless, when you hear this band you’re sure to hear lots of octave guitar leads and galloping drums that usually lead to a heartfelt climactic slower part.

I totally loved this record. Really good follow up on the last record too, expanding on what was good from it. They sound varied enough to able to play with any band that claims to play anything reportly 'punk'. As far as this CBK thing. I don't listen to them regularly and I've never compared anyone to them before. In fact, it was Brian that pointed it out to me (and I checked and agreed) in a comment to my Life Long Tragedy Runaways reviews, when I discussed the LLT/FF split. Score is for Gobias Records. why compare every hardcore band to comeback kid? day 53 rules. I dig these guys, it's been a while since I've dug a hardcore punk rock band. Very Ensign and Comeback Kid influenced for sure. The reviewer has it right, it's nothing groundbreaking but an entertaining listen none the less. why compare every hardcore band to comeback kid? CK sucks and theyre nothing like FF score is for the game final fight. These guys seriously sound like Comeback Kid Fat Wreck? I might have to check this out then. I heard the name and saw the people who were into them and thought they must be some mediocre metalcore or bullshit meathead hardcore band. this band is awesome. "As in 'Go buy us a cup of coffee'." |
