Hyperrealist has put together a beautiful and cohesive package that conveniently pairs Baroness' first two blistering EPs into one handy release. The covers of both EPs are replicated on respective sides of the outside package, and both sides are also embossed with a red foil stamp. With a slipcase over that. And full liner notes. Not too shabby.

This was generally probably the best fuckin' idea I have ever seen. Both these records make me bust a nut, and i can never listen to one without listening to the other. those 2 records are probably 2 of my favorite records of all time... hands down. Love the Second first, and the First second. And the Red Album just threw all respect I had for the band out the window. I will never buy (let alone listen) to any release that they release post mordem. Score is for 1 and 2. A lot of people think Red sucks and these are where it's at. I like all of it but this shit is just so fucking raw, heavy and sludgy. Amazing shit here. I feel like the background vocals make the red album are they not on these songs? Just a 7? No way. Second is at least a 9, and First is a close second. Both are stellar EPs in a different way than the Red Album, i love them all. At their show in Asheville recently they played all of First and concluded by saying it was probably the last time they'd ever play those songs since the new record is coming out this year. I'll have to check this out. I'm one of the aforementioned "got into after Red Album" type people after being COMPLETELY blown away seeing them. | Features
