| Gaslight Anthem / Heartless Bastards / Good Old Warlive in Chicago2009 live show Review by: american_666_jesus See others by this writer Only registered users can post comments Published on April 7th 2009
I was pleased beyond pleased when I saw a notice that a handful of extra tickets were released for this show. You better believe that I was willing to be late to work that night in order to get them too. As much as I love the Gaslight Anthem, I do hate the Bottom Lounge. The show would have been so much better had it been at Reggie's, but you could say that about a lot of shows.

I've never been able to get a hold of Senor and the Queen either. Is it ne good? Doesn't it have The Blue T-Shirt and White Jeans song? i smell a breakup sandwich Good review, sounds like a good line up, can't wait for the Stone Pony Agreed about the Heartless Bastards. And Gaslight was better both times I've seen them before. Brian didn't seem into it or something. I don't know. They still were really good though. This reviewer really wants us to know that he's familiar with The Gaslight Anthem's catalogue. I can't fucking believe I forgot all about this. "The next band was Heartless Bastards, a female-fronted group which made me skeptical at first." Good Old War would have been better if the sound guy hadn't screwed them up so bad. Stayed upstairs for Heartless Bastards. Gaslight Anthem were good but didn't exactly blow the roof of the place. Sees like everyone had fun, even all the bros in the audience. Wow, what's crawled up everone's ass around here? The only time I saw Gaslight was when they opened up for Dead to Me and The Draft at a small bar. They were fun to watch, but I would not want to see them at a bigger venue. "They disguised it by starting it as "Stand by Me," but then broke into the song and my heart was lifted" The show was alright. I missed Good Ole War, and was bored to death by the Heartless Bastards. Gaslight was good, but not as entertaining as they were when I saw them open up the Rise Against tour. They weren't bad, but not as good as the first time. I have about 7 friends that went to this show, and said it was one of the worst shows they've been to in years. Not original. "hey are fantastically original and give the music scene the shot of life that it so sorely needs right now.' needs more cowbell Because of the ever declining state of our economy, Brian has cut us down to 9 reviews this week. |
