It was early March and Relapse Records had already made its second entry in the Neurosis sweepstakes with a long-awaited, swelling, conceptual bombast of an album. The other, however, shouldn't go overlooked -- despite pulling from similar influences, Tombs' Winterhours makes its own individual mark quite well.

This at least makes me not be so upset Versoma broke up so quickly. Mike Hill can do no wrong. His blog is pretty cool too. I need to catch Tombs opening for Isis here soon. Best metal record I've heard in a long while. Saw these guys in RVA. Great fucking band. Glad to see this even reviewed here and getting a good score. Good band. anyone who likes this album should check out a French band called Dreams of the Drowned. They do this a similar kind of thing (black metal-influenced heavy hardcore) even better in my opinion, and they have a free demo on their mySpace. I've been meaning to pick up any of their records, friggin were supposed to play on a tour and didn't come | Features
