Balance & Composure sound like a potentially whiny bullshit band of the modern era saved by exposure to awesome `90s bands (just look at the influence list on their MySpace page). You might mistake their earnestness on their I Just Want to Be Pure EP at first for typical youth angst, but a few more listens in and one comes to realize just how merely sincere Balance & Composure are being, and how much better they are for it.

"Alone For Now" is fucking awesome... fans of Polar Bear Club and shit should like it a lot... I don't get the hate here, though I do think they're really only good when they're loud. I associate MP3.com more with awful fourth-rate Ataris and MxPx bands. I can't believe there's new bands who sounds like this. "Alone For Now" sounds exactly like some random band from Jersey on mp3.com. Doylestown can't put on a show without these guys playing, and for no reason other than they get the most attention and play generic pop-emo-punk. Pennsylvania has a lot going on, much better stuff to talk about than B&C. it's about time the org started reviewing some decent music again. Pennsylvania has ridiculously good music "springing" out of it right now! guitar sounds like The Cardinal Sin, a band a miss a lot, damn this guitar for sounding like that band American Football, Polar Bear Club, Third Eye Blind. yugbkugbljhblxdfbldjbhl |
