Defiance, Ohio are one of the last bands I’d expect to see in my locale. Despite the fact that it’s put on some pretty amazing shows over the past few years with bands from all over the place, Defiance, Ohio just seem like worlds away, part of a scene that doesn’t tend to reach us, that we can only read about.

I didn't know he was in a hardcore band before. I just got them to play once because I was putting on a video game music themed gig. Yeah, I've come across Magic Skool Bus, a ska band if I remember right. Hey man, that's awesome! Did you ever hear of the singers' old hardcore band Seven Years? They were awesome and used to play with Magic Skool Bus a fair bit, who you might know if you're a UK punk promoter. I once booked and played a show with Elfonso. Didn't think I'd ever see them on Punknews. Good band. yes, bloc party is most definitely my favorite folk-punk band, up there with flock of seagulls Evil Robot Us' are a pretty awesome, raw folk punk band. 1. Mischief Brew Listening to Madeline for the first time... she's really, really good. I'm sick of the folk thing, but this is so original and beyond folk and the rest of the Plan-it-x roster. i haven't seen defiance ohio or madeline since pix fest. this needs to be rectified. You're writing that Defiance, Ohio is one of the top three folk punk bands. Which are the other two? Andrew Jackson Jihad? Ghost Mice? Pipe Bomb? I'm pretty new to the whole folk punk thing and need recommendations. Dante, Yes kids really do wear their hair like that. Come to Olympia and you will see all that and more. Terrible, terrible hair styles are stoked for this show. If we don't count against me because they're not a folk punk band anymore, then I'd call Andrew Jackson Jihad, Ghost Mice and Defiance Ohio the top three, in order, pretty much. haha they are definitely not top 3 folk punk bands, i would have them at number 12. my top 11. Nice review. Holy Balls...etc. etc... |
