Bullet Treatment's Designated Vol. 1 7" is a neat little experiment that finds the L.A. trio providing the same sub-two-minute instrumental hardcore track to six notable punk rock frontmen, who write their own lyrics, track their own vocals and even name the song whatever they want. The song itself is a solid and pretty dynamic slab of pessimistic-sounding, `80s-inspired hardcore punk, so it's a good template for its vocalists.

The 2nd volume would be awesome if it was: Jason Shevchuk, Brendan Kelly, Dicky Barrett, Tyson Annicharico, Tom Gabel, and Greg Attonito. when i first heard about this i thought it was a really stupid idea. i still feel the same Chris#2 1 St. Za. Needs moar Caughthran Sturg sings like an angry Starscream. I find myself putting this on quite often round these parts... I think all six dudes did a good-enough job. I wasn't a huge fan of this, which surprises me because I usually have a boner for anything Stza does... Wow, I wish Tim would sing like this again for, you know, Rise Against, his band. They should get matt from the bronx to be on vol 2 Tim's version is the best, I think even Tim would think this is probably one of his best performances in the last 5 years. I do think Russ & Chris are really good. Great idea and excited to hear there is supposed to be a vol. 2. Personally, I like Russ' song the best. Tim's a really good singer. cool concept but they picked some meh singers.. i think vol 2 is supposed to feature better people |
