With the exception of Crass (who often teetered on the edge of art-punk or equally experimental conduits), the UK’s Subhumans are arguably the most influential anarcho-punk band in history, and certainly one of the most prolific. With eight studio records to their name, an addition to the Live in a Dive franchise and a handful of EPs, Southern Records has taken it upon themselves to re-master and reissue six of the band’s classic albums originally released on the band’s own Bluurg Records.

So since I left that previous comment, I've basically had "The Day the Country Died" playing on repeat for hours at a time, and, my fucking god. I swear "Mickey Mouse is Dead" and "No" are two of the greatest songs punk has seen, and probably will ever see. There's just so much fucking power inside of those songs, it's beyond words. Mickey Mouse Is Dead!!! "The Day the Country Died" is a beast of a cd. So good it's beyond words. I've always felt that this band, and Conflict don't get nearly enough love. Huh. NOFX is the last band I'd expected to see mentioned twice in a review of this band. Good read, though. These guys rule almost too hard to be real. So many fucking classics. I'm a bit partial to Cit Fish as well. Love the subhumans, but I'm one of those weird people that slightly prefers citizen fish, you may throw stones now. One of the best bands of all time. Nothing more needs to be said. Every once and awhile I'll rediscover just how much I love all of these albums. Disgustingly underrated band. These guys rule and Dick Lucas is the man. If you got complete packages of all 6 reissues for free due to your "staff writer" status you are one lucky man. That's all the payment you'd need for all the good reviews you've written. | Features
