Since 2006 or 2007, online independent music depot If You Make It has released as free downloads a handful of EPs and full-length albums from various bands. The three-song Land Seal Demo by the group Thousandaires was one such release featured in 2008. Not surprisingly, Thousandaires sound a lot like other IFMI acts Get Bent and Halo Fauna, and also the band Bridge and Tunnel currently on No Idea Records. Why is all of this not surprising? Because Thousandaires feature members hailing from all three bands.

tommy's tavern is awesome. i'm pretty sure that's where i saw o pioneers and fellow project... but i could be mistaken For the Brooklyn commenter: also score can't agree more with the dude who said second best next to Get Bent release. THIS BAND IS AWESOME... but they never play shows, and i'm in brooklyn :( I was all "why's his voice this gruff if it's so annoyingly clean in Daggermouth"? But it's a different singer. It's the guy from Aspirations, and they're awesome. Hmm I'm listening to them again now and they sound better than before. Coolio. Yeah I came across their page a few days ago thanks to Living With Lions' bulletin post. I don't really like it, I never liked Daggermouth. Thanks anyway. :P Oh yeah, score. Blackjaw and Mikexdude, this is mostly for you two, but I think most people who enjoy these guys (and maybe moreso PBC) will dig: So incredible, best ep/demo of 2008. There's so much energy in these songs and they translate live really well too. Only reason its not 10 is it's just a demo, I really hope a full length comes out of this project. one of my favorite Eps of last year, and my second favorite download on iymi next to Get Bent. How can a band overuse melodies? oh yea, and you can also buy the demo in a tangible form from Mandible Records. It also has different artwork. thanks for the review! hopefully we'll have a split coming out sometime this year. awesome! hmm... i'm gonna hafta check this out. Fucking perfect. Possibly my favorite demo of last year. Lyrics are wonderful and the melodies are super strong and passionate. Can't wait for the upcoming split(s). |
