While a bit long at 40 minutes, Los Difuntos’ self-titled album generally comes off as a stirring love letter to Hellcat Records, combining Rancid’s attitude (and vocals) with Tiger Army’s psychobilly stomp. Spanish for “The Deceased,” Los Difuntos don’t reinvent the wheel so much as take it for a joyride, skirting the edges of goth, rockabilly and punk without overindulging in any one direction.

the band was dropped by hellcat for the song posuer josh (just google it ),too bad cuz these guys kick ass I was told that this band had some drama with the Nekromantix (don't know the exact reason why), and "You Don't Know Me" is about the Nekromantix's frontman. As a result of this feud, Hellcat ended up not releasing the record. Yeah, I remember being interested in this record and was surprised when it was delayed. I heard the label had problems with one of the songs so that's why it wasn't released. Between this and Leftover Crack, I guess there are censorship issues with the Hellcat. But I dig the record. There are worst things than bands being in love with Rancid. this was originally gonna be on hellcat, it was on the release page and everything, but for some reason didn't come out on the label. i guess i agreed with you for some time, but with distance comes clarity: sandinista is way better than life won't wait |
