RamonesLoud, Fast Ramones: Their Toughest Hits (2002)Ramones Reviewer Rating: User Rating: Contributed by: ifgabeldiesiwilldie (others by this writer | submit your own) Published on December 4th 2009
This album is basically a compilation of Johnny Ramone's favorite songs. Johnny handpicked these songs because he was always a fan of the heavy, or "tougher" songs, unlike, say, Joey, who loved the poppier songs.

this album is pretty good but if you really want to listen to the ramones pick up loco live it is awesome Why not just get Ramonesmania? Pretty pointless review This review was terible. The production on Brain Drain is absolutely horrible, this is true, but the songs are still pretty good on their own. Bill Laswell sucks at producing the Ramones as did Juan Bouviour (formerly of the Plasmatics) He produced Animal Boy and I always felt the songs were much better than the production on the album. The later albums that sounded good production-wise were Adios Amigos, Halfway to Sanity and Mondo Bizarro. I don't listen to them as much as I used to, but I'll always love the Ramones. They were, stereotypically, my first punk band. I was over at my high school teacher/cross country coach's house and heard some Ramones. I mentioned that I liked them and he hooked me up w/ an album and I've been listening to punk ever since. I don't have this one, but in regards to the other comments: Man, punknews is really strapped for reviews eh? The Crusher, written by Dee Dee, originally appears in it's much better original form on the misunderstood Standing in the Spotlight (Dee Dee's first solo album). Main Man is from Mondo Bizarro and CJ sings it. It doesn't appear on Brain Drain. Brain Drain marks the final appearance of Dee Dee as a full-time performing member of the Ramones. For many, it marks the true end of the band. Strength to Endure is also from Mondo Bizarro, which is sung by CJ. Dee Dee wrote many songs for the Ramones after leaving because none of them were strong writers, except for Joey. All of their albums were basically Joey/Dee Dee, very similar to the Mould/Hart situation in Husker Du. There are of course exceptions, but 99% of the time, those are the primary songwriters in the Ramones. The limited bonus live disc that came with this when it was first released was a great treat. This band sucks. Are you sure you don't mean recorded with Dee Dee or not? Joey was always in the band. Though CJ sings Main Man, Strength To Endure, and The Crusher. what a stupid fuckin review YES! My first Ramones and my first punk CD. The Crusher and Main Man were from the 90's. The Crusher is from Adios Amigos and Main Man is from Brain Drain, both have CJ singing I believe. double disc best of comp* score is for that i bought the double disc album (mine also included a 100 page book) for £6 in hmv. bargain. i rarely listen to them but when i do its always good stuff. i dont wanna grow up is my favourite (a cover i think) This is the album responsible for throwing away my linkin park cds in 6th grade. The best song on this disc is commando. I don't think the crusher is that bad. Commando=awesome, Commando Starring Arnold= awesome. | Features
