I couldn't wait to go see this show, as it was my first time seeing Green Day live. I saw Blink last year on their TOYPAJ tour and they were ok, nothing to write home about. Even though I was a bit mad when Jimmy Eat World wasn't going to play, it really didn't matter, as I was there for really only one band, Green Day. Kut U Up's sound is pretty reminicent of Small Brown Bike, IMO. The music is heavily bass driven, with some guitar lines hinting out of there. The vocalist is pretty covered by the music, even on their song on the atticus comp. You'll have to hear them, its hard to give a really good classification of their sound. i realize i'm late about commenting in here, but I wanted to know what kind of music Kut U Up is because you kind of neglected to write about their sound... and yeah i kinda agree that this show is a waste of 40 bucks... I didn't go when it came through my area and i'm glad i didn't because that 40 bucks went towards band merch of bands that actually need the money more than these bands.. just my two cents. Blink likes to have anal sex with 10 year old fans. U make urself sound like morons? Um... who's the moron? That's right, u r. Really, it's not that hard to type out you, and yourself. "Damaged" and "Police Story" don't hold a candle to "Wasting Time". Fucking idiot. Mest and Blink....no passion I tells ya, no passion at all. Black flag and Minor threat are the shize bitch. amen to that. just cuz some punk bands are old doesnt make them automatically kick ass. have u seen rollins lately? washed up. but if u want a cd that upstages any blink album, and comes close to green day, check out mest's's 'wasting time'. the new one's good too, but wasting time is the shit everyone at my school was wearing the same green day shirt the next day...i didnt go to the show, i wouldnt really want to, eventhough green day are incredible live. the price was way to much to wanna see one band...although at least they played a whole set. i've not gone to warped tour cause i only wanna see one band, and thirty bucks isnt worth it for a 30 minute set. Sorry, but any show, record or even lemonade stand involving Blink 182 deserves a "1" in my books. Wow. I guess if the guy from Mest said old school punk sucks, it must be true. Shit. What do I do wih all of my punk albums now? Yeah, I gotta say the same thing about this tour. Before I went I was a bigger Blink Fan than Green Day, and I love JEW. But after seeing Green Day play their hometown show (oakland, well close enough to Berkeley) they blew Blink out of the water. Blink needs a new live sound guy, because their equipment sounded horrible (Well...the guys sounded a lil off too...) I'd like to see that idiot from Mest say that to Hank's face... hey fuck off old punks ya u guys that are all about sex pistols and shit like black flag... i went to the mest concert last nite in providence and the singer was so right when he said u guys suck and ur music was never good in the first place Fucking idiots- you actually listen to this shit? It's an insult to great bands that created the "punk" name- not bands like "The Sex Pistols"- they only had one good song and the rest suck and they were into money and fashion more than music. I'm talking about MC5,Ramones, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Stooges, Minor Threat- now thats some music you can break a skull to!! I've went to like around 30 punk shows(which is pretty low compared to some people), and I've never seen blink once. Reason being might be that i always get negative feedback from everybody i know that actually goes to thier shows. Even though I've never seen them before, i have have seen theme in countless live videos and ect. And so, Yes, blink does suck live. They are obviously a studio band, which explains why thier recording sounds honestly great, and they suck balls live. Never waste money on blink ever again, I haven't, because i'm lucky enough not to like thier music in the first place. Hmm it seems Blink doesn't vary their act much, as they opened with Anthem Part II and played Happy Holidays twice in a row. I saw this in Hartford CT, along with a bunch of other bands. "We don't give a shit what the weather was like." Did anyone else try to go tot the Strung Out show at Nations in DC? I heard from Rufio that it was cancelled because the venue owners didn't want to have to compete with the Pop-Disaster tour.... Hey chum, you're doing a concert review, not a fucking book. You can honestly tell me Tom didn't sound like hell when he sang? I saw Blink the year before on the TOYPAJ tour, and they were a lot better. They played with much more feeling and intensity then they did at pop disaster. It was pretty much like they didn't even care this time around. I don't that was exactly what Mark said, but whatever, he still sang really uninspired. They also played pretty much the same set as they did a year before also, no surpises. I would have loved to hear more dude ranch. I didn't write that to make them look bad, if I did a review of their show last year, I would have given them a much better review. Think before you flame... i give it a zero. Pop Disaster tour...sheesh. Listen AlucardX, pat foley whats up mofo its mike Say what you will about Green Day--they've been doing the arena gig since 93. I saw them last year, and my money was on Green Day upstaging them and surprise, surprise!! Most of the reviews seem to suggest the same, even from people who aren't huge Green Day fans. I think half the reason Green Day took this tour was because they knew they could show up Blink in front of their own fans. Can't wait to see what happens with Green Day's new album... hmm true enough. but NFG still kick ass, and they are really nice. maybe STD were just having a bad night when i met them.NFG are not cock heads.Steve is very fuckin cool. ian and cyrus are just quiet and kinda dorky.jordan, for all the attention chicks give him, is very down to earth.they are normal guys. they were nervous for the blink tour last year they told me. they are averaged aged at 22 and played shows w/ 10,000 poeple, nervous as hell. lets see u try that. To that one guy who said he wasn't making fun of Chris: I know, but others do and it's getting so old. I never found anything wrong with it, if you're going to sit there and laugh at it then your sense of humor sucks ass. I've met Chris from StD, and I have to say he's one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met. chris does dance like a dork. i love saves the day, but c'mon. he was also pretty cocky when i met them, but ebin was cool and bummed a smoke off me. i thought they were all straight edge or vegan, but i guess not.oh yea NFG's singer doesnt act like an ass the times i've seen him, and those guys are the coolest fuckin band i've ever met,he didnt even get annoyed by 12 year old girls asking for his water bottle, while chris told a girl that "this encounter will be more memorable"w/ a sarcastic tone when she asked for an autograph, and didnt stop to talk to anyone.NFG was ten times nicer than saves the day(i'm friends w/ the local club venue owners son, so i meet all the bands, pretty rad huh?)dont' talk shit or judge band members unless u meet them. I didn't bash Blink to look cool (I even admitted to enjoying them on their last tour), If I wanted to look cool, I would have said all the bands sucked and started preaching about how Kid Dynamite rocks. This was my opinion of the show, and if you went to the wantagh show, you'd know the true torture of sitting through that Blink set. I went to the show in Buffalo, NY and had a damn good time. I was disapointed that STD played all new shit. Green Day opened with Maria and even played King For A Day somewhere in their set. My friend/bandmate Matt got called up to play guitar cause I was pointing him down to Bille Joe. Billie gave him a huge buggs bunny kiss and let him keep the guitar and go backstage for the rest of the set. It was fucking sweet. He got all these business cards from people back stage who told him to give them a call if he ever starts a band or is in one. I laughed my ass off when there were 12 year old girls coming up to him asking to touch the guitar, and we had to get my drunk friend Jarrett to play body guard. Goodtime. RedRaider... That must be Mike. But yea... I didnt even want to go see this show because, even though I have never been to the Tweeter Center I looked at the seating charts and the lawn seats looked way too far away and the closer seats were way too expensive. Last Year at Suffolk Downs was, Im sure, 400 million times better because its just a horse track and they play in the middle of it with lawn as far as the eyes can see. I heard you couldnt even hear blink and Green Day played about 6 songs in 45 minutes. Thats ridiculous. $35 to watch Saves the Day, Green Day and Blink a half mile away, Ill just go watch Big D and the Kids Table for $15 and be able to touch them I am so close. I'm not fucking acting "cool", Blink were good last year, but this year, they just sucked this time around. I was at the may11 h pop disaster show in houston as well, and I have to stay it was a good show, not great though. Jimmy Eat World was really solid live ( kicked off with the bad ass " a praise chorus" and ended with "the middle"- all the dumbasses got off their hands for this song, my friend was like: is this their best song?, iw as like " no all these idiots just know it from the radio".), even though they have no charisma. Green Day was next and their set was as tight as it could be as they kicked off with "Maria" played all their hits. They even let some fans come up and play an operation ivy cover. Only negative was, Bille Joe had the crowd iteract too much, I don't wanna hear everyone around me yelling " Oi, Oi! " and " Oh, Oh, Ohhhhhh". I saw Green Day a the Big Kuhuna in Wilmintion, DE(which is small club) and I have to say that it was the bst sho i ever been to. I know its hard to believe I sa gree ay in a small club lessthen a year ago, but it happened and ill never forget. Lets say I walke away a changed man. Ask for the pop disaster because im my past experiance with green day I would have kicked myself if I missed. So I bought a ticket for the show in Camdan, NJ show riht by Philly. This was my first show with a HUGE venue andit kind of freaked me out how big it was. STD opened and they were pretty good, the lead singer looked like he had ants in his pants. The green day was next, and it was a life changing experianeonce again, green day took home the crown that night. And I was so worn out along with the rest of the people that night, that it was hard to enjoy blinks set. I not big fan but I don't think they played that bad and theydid talk to much thou, and I hae to get them a hand for even steping on the stage after green day but the next morning I cut out a review for the show. And f tcource they said green day blew everyone away, and fo blink they said "thy didn't have the majic" whichIwasto stoked that nht that I didn't care. But that is probably one show which will o down in the history book for me. If you ever get a chance to see green day GO trust me you won't regret it, for now over and out Your wrong, Mark said something like "Tonight I am giving 100%, so you people are lucky, tommorow night at MSG I am gonna give only 40%". It was border-line creepy,so I was j/w.Ok,I'm really gonna go away this time. I saw the Pop Disaster Tour in Houston on May 11th,and I have to say,Jimmy Eat World would have been 1,000 times better on a smaller stage,plus,I was on the lawn,and the screens weren't turned on,so I had to actually stare at the little ants on stage,just to figure who was who,and who did what.Green Day,who can say anything bad about those crazy fuckers,they owned the WHOLE audience,and when they had people come on stage,they had some guy on guitar(I could care less about him,he was forgettable),they had a guy on bass who got a pair of pink panties from Billie,then stage dove,and this fat guy on drums,who ended up playing the part of roadie the rest of the night.Green Day ended their set with explosions of more confetti cannons than I have ever seen,and that includes when i saw Less than Jake.Then Blink came on,and what can I say ? I can say they sucked harder than a hooker with rent due. This wasn't the first show I've left early(I left 3 shows before the headliners came on,but that was only because I had to work the next day,and was nothing against the bands themselves.)But Blink,who I will admit,I liked,with the exceptions of Enema and Enema Strikes back,blew so hard,that by their 5th song,(the incredibly immature,crappy,and pointless shit piss song)my friends and me were actually ready to leave in THE MIDDLE of a bands set !!!(I've sat through fuckin Earshot and Hot Rod Circuit) Now I can't even listen to Dude Ranch or Cheshire Cat without turning off the cd and almost crying cause they were so bad.Plus,did anyone else see the band Breakdance Vietnam,they were so fucking good,but their cd is so bad.(not the songs or anything,the quality is bad,listen to it and you'll know what I mean)Ok,I'm gonna go away now. dude, get off my back. Just because I didn't know his dad was dead makes me a poser? Wow, I guess everything makes you a poser these days... and alucard you are such a poser for not knowing billie joe's dad was dead. yeah ive only shelled out 40 bucks for one show and that was tool also. i fucking love that band. don't hate me. uh, dude, i was talking about the guy who posts as 'oldpunker' who always says stupid i'm punk shit on every board.but if u saw black flag in 84 thats pretty cool...and makes u pretty old...relativly...and punk i guess, at least, at the time. but Rollins now is just some old washed up fuck that mumbles on stage preaching about being a animal, and my # is one. he sux now. to bad.gimme gimme gimme is cool. By the way- I'M NOT A PUNK, But I like a lot of punk music and just because I said Black Flag tore the place up in '84 doesn't make me some "old punker" you stupid shits. The fact is that, punk or not, those bands you mention just flat out suck. first guy who flammed me: shut the fuck up. I was giving an estimate to how I thought his voice sounded. I know what it is for a band to tour you fucking scumbag. I don't expect studio perfect, I was comparing their performance to what they had when I saw them the year before, when they were a shitload better. If you were at this concert, you'd think the same, so shut your fucking mouth or write your own damn review. billy joe's dad died about 20 years ago you absolute moron I saw the show in Hartford at the Radio 104 Fest on Memorial Day. I thought Saves the Day played an okay set, I've heard them play better, though I've never thought they were a particularly interesting band in the first place. Not bad. Green Day was great for the most part, but I'm still bitter towards Billie Joe for not picking me to go onstage and play bass (I mean...I WAS wearing an Op Ivy shirt, and he DID see me). Overall they were good, I was glad they didn't play much shit off Warning...it was mostly Dookie stuff, and some Nimrod. Sadly no real old stuff, cept of course playing Knowledge. Blink was okay, but why the fuck don't they play anything from their first two albums. Ever. What sellouts. They sat around and made dirty jokes and were admired by thousands of people who don't know better. I would never of paid to see this show, that's why I have made connections with Rick Devoe (blink's management) so I would never have to pay to see them again. I didn't see this show, but the show I did she was quite good and WAY overpriced. 34.50 for a ticket and 10.00 for parking. The monsters of Rock Tour was only 22.50 and it had Poison, Cinderella, Motley Crew, Bon Jovi, and Guns and Roses. I mean come on! That's huge. Blink was great on the show I saw them on. They did their Descendents cover. And played loud as hell. Jimmy Eat World was good, but I didn't think Green Day were as good as they should of been. If i wanted to hear Green Day moan into the mic and make orgasm sounds I could of just watched Blink. This review deserved a 2, if i wanted to read a review making fun of blink i could read any review Scott writes. He sang one step lower, tom sang four steps too sharp. What the fuck are you talking about. Just say he was too low or too high, this "step" crap makes you look stupid. great show by the way, tom was awsome and so was mark. You try to sing every night for 1000 kids for two godamn months, little worthless prick. It was an awsome show and Blink was badass. if you have a problem go eat shit little mag. went to the pittsburgh show (home of upper middle class punks anti flag, who pose as punks to the rest of u unsuspecting dopes...sorry went to HS w/ em) and i have to agree w/ most of u. saves the day was good, but they sound better in clubs. they also played 9 songs off the new album and only 2 off TBC. none off the first. i was bummed cuz i like TBC better than the new one andi also appreciate a balance of albums in a set. oh well. green day was cool, but the crowd interaction is only cool for the people interacting.but in 7th grade when dookie came out i was hooked. didnt have a fuckin clue what punk is then, but being 22 now, i hold them is some sort of classic esteem. dont' know what punk is now but alot of u computer savvy punks w/ internet access seem to have an opinion. oldpunker, i can almost imagine how punk u are, panning for change to pay for your internet access.Finally, blink suct cock. i dig their albums, specially dude ranch, but jerry finn can shine a turd in the studio. they cant sing, however, i do note that travis is god behind the kit.they fuck around, and play shitty sets. they suct last year too, but at least NFG showed them what its like to play well live, they blew blink off the stage.teenyboppers singing along bugged me, but shit, least they like blink and not creed or puddle of nickle life house or whatever. anyways i'm out. overall a shitty show but at least i got so drunk i couldnt remember the second half of blinks set. Yeah.. So its about two weeks before the concert here in Boston, and I have no tickets to this show. Last year I saw Blink 182 with New Found Glory and they kicked ass. NFG was amazing and Blink played M&M's... I was so fucking happy. So anyways, bout a week before this concert I would have shelled out 60 bucks for this 30 dollar ticket to see Saves the Day, undoubtedly one of my favorite bands.. Green Day, who I have been a huge fan of since third grade *I kid you not* and Blink since about 7th grade when I first heard Carousel off of Chesire Cat. So regardless of all this, somehow I end up with two FREE tickets the day before the show. I have no idea how, I guess some of my friends who are girls didnt feel like going so I gladly took them off their hands. My friends and I got to the show at about 5:15, and doors opened inside at about 7, and STD went on around 7:15 and played an amazing set, not to mention the fact that I was so freakin far away i dont think I could see chris dance if i had tried. STD looked like specs of red and blue on the stage which was about a football field and 1/2 away. (Thanks alot tweeter center you fucking blow, and thanks alot to blink and GD for actually agreeing to play such a shitty venue). We had lawn seats so we couldnt get too into the music, I mean im sure its chill for all those pot smoking DMB fans who have nothing better to do and arent even there for dave to bein with, but for some reason, being 150 yards from the stage didnt sit well with me. So anyways, after a long time after STD closed with "Firefly", GD came on with a bunch of sirens and blaring sounds and stuff. They opened with "Maria" and the crowd was going crazy. Billy Joe was amazing with the crowd, simulating an orgasm and having a mariachi band come out and play with him. They fucking rocked. Green day should have closed the show, because if I had known how pathetic Blink was going to be, i wouldnt have stayed even tho the tickets were free. Im not ashamed to say I love blink 182. I think Tom and Travis are very talented... But i hafta agree with the reviewer b/c toms voice sounded like shaaaaaaaaaaat. Mark's wasnt much better. they played all the songs that the 11 year olds behind me sang all the words to and were far too out of control for lawn seats. if they persisted one of them would have ended up with my foot in their trachea. "Dammit" the only song i wanted to hear besides "What Went Wrong" and "Carousel", sucked royally and I probably will never go see blink again unless they stop sucking live and playing such shitty venues so they can make 6 extra bucks. I went to the show in Charlotte NC, and Green Day was the best show I've ever seen, but blink sucked ass. The bass was up to high, and tom should be shot for torturing people with his voice. We left during the middle of the set, when mark was having a picnic with some chick while tom "sang" that acoustic song. Goddamn blink sucks ass. I went to pop disaster here in florida and it was fucking incredible,i have to agree with the guy who did the review of blink sucking,i've never seen them before and they fucking suct ass,i mainly came for greenday because they're my favorite band from all time,i also wanted to see j. E. W live even thought i'm not much into their music,they kicked ass,but it wasn't nothing compared to greenday... Bj just has the best stage presence,probably only people like kurt cobain would've had the recognition that he has live. I think that performance will always be the best thing i'll ever see. saves the day was cool in NJ. only saw 1 or 2 song b/c of the horrible traffic . but green day rocked. and so did blink. blink was actually better then i have seen them before. good job guys When i saw blink and Green Day at darrien lake Both bands were quite awsome. i feel sorry for the guy that got the crappy blink show. ha ha I never saw green day in concert, damn I have to go see them but they never come to Ottawa. I did see Blink with new found glory, and they were pretty good. They where a lot better than before when they played the Sno-core tour with Primus like 5 years back. The only show i payed 40$ for was Tool. And i'd do it again. Tool just puts on a great show. Oops tool isnt punk, i will probably be killed. I still find it quite humorous that "real punks" find the need to bash green day and blink,get over yourselves. These 2 bands have always been snotty,bratty,obnoxious pop punk. Take them for what they are. Enough of this bashing shit.. Its really getting boring. And its taking up space on this site. -oldpunker- I've been to plenty of club shows (Bad Religion, AFI, etc.) and I do know the intesity that they have. However, this was my first time seeing Green Day, and at their rate, they won't play a club show anytime soon. If they weren't playing this, I would have made much better use of my 40 bucks, like saving it for Warped Tour, but I really wanted to see them. The price to go to this stupid stadium show is 40 everywhere, and this was pretty much the only real way I was ever going to see them now. Now that I went to the show, I really should have left after them instead of staying for the horrid Blink set. If you've seen Green Day before, then don't bother, 40 is way too much. For a first time though, I had to. they pick people to come on stage to play knowledge by op ivy..and he wore the crown and robe for kind for a day What were you expecting? I mean....come on! I've seen Green Day once and they did a good job, not great- too much gimmick crap, I've never seen Blink and NEVER will and Saves the Day is just flat out wimpy. Try seeing a band live that can go up on stage without gimmicks, without props, without an arena and completely create a terrifyingly intense and violent riot through anger. The best live performance I've ever seen was Black Flag in 1984 at the Leeds Festival in England- fucking classic, Rollins is such an insane fucker, I swear that his intensity was almost enough to kill everyone in attendence if he let loose on them. The craziest song was "My Ghetto", he was punching and snarling at the pussy skin heads in the front row, while I bashed on the skins from the back. Now THAT'S a show, one where you barely walk away from alive is the best kind my friend- unforgetable. The price tag was the reason I didn't go. I've seen Blink twice now and I have to say they've actually gotten worse over time. I would have only gone for Green Day (Jimmy Eat World would have opened the date I went to) and $40 for one band wasn't worth it to me. you paid 40 dollars for that shit? you're crazy. still, i have some weird respect for blink after reading that review. You wasted your money friend. 40 bucks just for Green day, Daves the day and a sample of Kut U up? You got ripped. Even though I am a bit of a Blink fan, I would never go to their show. I have heard them live (the live CD), and they SUCK live. On top of that, They don't have to try. They have the command of tons of people, who Know that any show put on by someone on TRL IS (YES IS IT IIISSSS) a good show. I am surprised that people bothered to tell Blink that they weren't doing good. They are heros, at least someone can tell that they are not a super-dee-dooper band just becasue they are all over MTV.
