About Kubonicrecords:

Kubonic Records was born in mid-2002 when founder and CEO David realized he was surrounded by a wealth of young musical talent. Looking for an ambitious challenge following his high school graduation, he decided upon a unique business model: a "one-stop CD shop." The premise of Kubonic Records was to provide all the services involved in creating an album, from the actual recording to album artwork to marketing and distribution. For a low cost a young band could come in and walk out with a finished product and label support, not just a demo burned to a plain CD-R. David was particularly inspired to start up Kubonic Records by his own band, an early version of what became Radio Suicide. Another project by Hope Shattered Dream was also key to the birthing of the company. After some publicity the bands known as Broken Silence and Raging Carolina became interested. At this point a project by solo arist DJT was also envisioned, and the rise of the new comedy act Three Blind Meece created another opportunity for Kubonic. At the end of summer 2002, six albums were released by the aforementioned artists (Punk Cuz I Say So, Made of Glass, the Broken Silence EP, The Greatest Hits EP, To Be Set Free, and Meece At Play, respectively). Three Blind Meece in particular became an underground word-of-mouth smash due to their hit debut Meece At Play. Unfortunately, plans for a Kubonic Records Missile Crisis Compilation: Volume 1 never came through for various reasons. Kubonic Records sat on the backburner until the following summer... In the winter of 2003 Radio Suicide self-released their swan song, the Transmitting Silence EP. Out of respect to the band Kubonic Records has now picked up the release (as well as the band's debut Whiteboy Music For A Cuban Influence, under the former moniker The Other Side) for marketing and distribution. Come summertime 2003 and Kubonic Records' 1st birthday, the company received another set of opportunities to produce some music. The group formerly known as Broken Silence had transformed into Eternal Requiem, and they were interested in releasing another EP. Their friends in Here Till Thursday were also interested in working with Kubonic Records for their debut effort. Thus, mid-summer 2003 saw the release of the Kill The Killer EP and The Anti-Slanteye EP. Also of note during that summer, Kubonic Records recording artists Raging Carolina recorded their "Farewell Show" before calling it quits. After almost 3 years in the dark, Kubonic Records is proud to announce that Raging Carolina: Live at The Showcase Theatre is now officially available through the label! Not merely interested in producing music, the friendly people at Kubonix worked to bring the world Kubonic Films, a new division of the company. Eight cinematic works of art were carefully constructed, most during 2003. Although they have never been officially released, Kubonix will be doing all possible to make these releases available for worldwide viewing on the Internet via the advent of such websites as www.YouTube.com. 2004 brought a new signing to Kubonic Records, the "epic electronica-grindcore" project GHOSTBUSTER. However for various reasons their debut That's The Worst Thing I've Ever Heard In My Entire Life was self-released. The good news? Ghostbuster is back on board and the album is available *exclusively* through Kubonic! Also that year, Kubonic Records shattered expectations in an unprecedented move - uploading massive amounts of music from "the golden years" of Kubonic Records on the Internet! While most of that material is no longer available, KUBONIC RECORDS is proud to be back in 2006 - now on *MYSPACE*! All of your favorite Kubonic artists are available online with classic selections from the legendary records. Thanks for checking out the history and feel free to spread the word in the KUBONIX REVIVAL!
