The famous Bay area label, Alternative Tentacles, has officially joined Muxtape. Muxtape, for those of you who don't know, is a website (probably some form of Internets spelling of the word "Mixtape") that allows users to simply stream twelve tracks at a time. The label had this to say:

Alternative Tentacles has succumbed to another viral meme, this time it's the ragin' case of the MUXTAPE! We can't vouch for the legality of this little guy, but it lets us put up twelve hot, streaming mp3s for your listening (but not downloading) pleasure. Some hot new titles like Triclops! and Slim Cessna's Auto Club, along with some gems from the AT vaults. In lieu of a new batcast, this is the next best thing… Make us a favorite!

Other bands with songs posted include Amebix, Akimbo, Jello Biafra With The Melvins, I Object, Burning Image, Wesley Willis, and Disaster Strikes. Whether or not the page is updated often, the tracks from the back catalog are generally hard to find streaming online.

You can find their Muxtape page here.
