Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness recently spoke with Synthesis.net about the band's future recording plans, a new solo album and a possible documentary on Social D.

We've got studio albums for both projects. It's wide open. [I'm taking] the most part of this year off, and then next year it's time to gear up and get focused, and create. I think it's gonna be great. The time off always helps me prepare for creating subconsciously.
A follow-up to 2004's Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll has been mentioned, but delayed several times while the band had been touring constantly for the last few years. Although a title and release date for the new Social Distortion album have not yet been officially confirmed, the band plans to release it sometime in 2009 as well as an acoustic album.

A new solo record would follow Ness' last two outputs; Cheating At Solitaire, and the country music covers compilation, Under The Influences. Both records were released in 1999.
