Some news from the Slowdance camp:

  • First, the label has announced the signing of the 1989 Chicago Cubs. Yes, that's actually the band's name. The '89 Cubs are a 3-piece from Omaha, but that's the only information the label will release about them currently.
  • Slowdance has also completed their first label sampler entitled 2004: Year Of The Pug, which will be distributed free with every order and contains brand new/unreleased tracks from The Velvet Teen, Rescue, Kissing Tigers, and a bunch more.
  • Lastly, the label has confirmed release dates for the upcoming Rescue, Roots Of Orchis, Velvet Teen, and Kissing Tigers albums.

July 6th:
Rescue "Flamingo Minutes" - A super-EP of incredible new material that consists of such wonderful intricate guitars and heart-wrenching sincerity, just you wait.

The Roots of Orchis "Crooked Ceilings" - Years in the making, this is the masterwork from this indie/hiphop/instrumental group. A double CD, one of brand new material, one of remixed/reinterpreted songs, at one low price.

July 20th:
The Velvet Teen "Elysium" - Remember when we said it was going to be a "mini-LP", well we're a bunch of dirty liars. It's a full-length. An LP. A long CD. It's also, like, the greatest album, ever. Mark my words. Oh also, our good chums at Pandacide Records will be releasing "Elysium" as a double 10" record. Woo!

August 17th:
Kissing Tigers "Pleasure of Resistance" - Debut full-length of Dancey Dance Dance action from these SoCal rulers of keyboard hooks and dark pop songs.
