Les Savy Fav / Pretty Girls Make Graves split 7''

Pitchfork Media is reporting that Pretty Girls Make Graves and Les Savy Fav will be releasing a split 7" on Frenchkiss Records. The label is run by Les Savy Fav bassist Syd Butler. The release will be recorded this fall, no word yet on when it will see the light of day.

almost everything on vinyl gets released on cd... so, i don't need one... but, something like this makes me want to run to goodwill and get a crappy $5 one... heh

NO. There are so many good hardcore releases that never go anywhere near CD so it's best to own a record player, from my point of view

There are actually a lot of splits and 7" that have great songs, but aren't ever released on cds. As far as full lengths, you're pretty much right.

i used to think record players were really hard to find until i started really looking for one. they sell em at best buy even.

Pitchfork is also reporting that Do Make Say Think is touring....and playing the Starlight in Waterloo. I can't fucking wait for that. In my mind, these guys are equals with the likes of Mogwai, GYBE!, and Tortoise when it comes to instrumental post-rock. In fact, I'd argue that they are the only band in the genre that's still getting better*, even after 4 albums. I highly recommend fans of such music to attend one of these shows.. * Ok, I lied. A Silver Mt. Zion impresses me more and more with each release.....but they're hardly instrumental anymore.

Something that has been bothering for a long time: The lead singer from Pretty Girls looks exactly like the lead from Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Same person? I'm assuming no, but I need to know so I can sleep again. Rob. http://ys.lossforwords.org
