Although it was pretty obvious, I will elaborate. I meant that in the metaphor that bands are families, then Saddle Creek would have a lot of inbreeding, because Conor Oberst is in at least two (maybe three) different bands on the label, as is Tim Kasher, the guys in the Faint, so on and so forth. Don't be a douchebag your whole life.

Conor Oberst= Bright Eyes, Desaparecidos Tim Kasher= Cursive, The Good Life Joel Petersen= The Faint, Beep Beep, Broken Spindles Ted Stevens= Lullaby for the Working Class, Mayday, Cursive etc. etc. etc. Most of the people in bands on Saddle Creek have been in a band together at one point in time, and since they've known eachother forever, acting as extensions of eachothers families, it's like incest.

yeah, somehow i ended up seeing that opening night at midnight (aka i have friends who don't have the same tastes as me). i've never felt more out of place.

It's not different tastes, it's just stupidity. I sorry to insult your friends, but really, it's the one of the most unoriginal and stupid films i've ever seen. I didn't mind some of the aliens and predator 1 and 2 manage to keep my attention, but how the fuck would you make friends with the predator, and the script. It's so typical it hurt. In other news, The Village is also amazingly dull and isn't actually a horror movie.

Man, I wish service fees were only $3.50. Ticket prices are going up...it seems like any band that's established within the scene sells tickets for $15-$20, and then add the $6-8 service charge. And for popular shows, like Coachella, service charges are about $20 on their own.

I always liked Ryne Sandberg and Mark Grace growing up. I'm in LA, but I used to watch the Cubs on WGN. I lost a lot of respect for Sandberg, however, when he divorced his wife and got his friend's wife pregnant. On the field though, Sandberg was definitely the shit.

Wow, this is awesome. Ryno was and still is my all-time favorite player. Love that guy, may his legacy live on forever!

You could have the Early 90's Killer B's with Bobby Bonilla, Barry Bonds, Sid Bream, Stan Belinda, etc...
