Phil Spector charged with murder

Famed producer Phil Spector was indicted today in the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. On February 3, 2003 the actress was found shot in the face at Spector's home in Alhambra, near Los Angeles. The case is set to go to trial as early as December 16th, with Spector facing a sentence of life without parole. The 64 year old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is now working with Mafia kingpin John Gotti's attorney, Bruce Cutler.

The Bronx-born Spector, renound for his "Wall of Sound" production style, was behind such famed 60s singles as The Righteous Brothers' You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling and Ike and Tina Turner's River Deep, Mountain High. Among his production credits is The Beatles' Let It Be. He famously pulled a gun on The Ramones during the recording of 1979's End Of The Century.

Check the court records, he got a fair trial. Every single one of his claims can be disproven just by checking the records of the trial. I understand the stories on mumia.org are more interesting then the transcripts of the trial, but unfortunately they are lacking alot of facts. Check each one of his claims, then check the court records. Each one of his claims are blown out of the water. Leonard Weinglass even knew it, that's why he finally quit the case. There was no huge conspiracy to keep a cab driver (which is all he was at the time of his arrest), in jail.

I haven't actually been able to find the court records. I've always wanted to see them, because every bit of information I have on the case comes from Mumia's books and various leftist/human rights oriented organizations (amnesty international, copwatch, refuse-resist, etc) -notfeelingcreative

Okay, found the court transcript, while it changes my mind about alot of the information that I had heard regarding the trial, I still think a new trial where Mumia is given counsel that represents him would be better, after all would could it hurt, if he's truly guilty he'd be proven guilty again beyond a shadow of a doubt. -notfeelingcreative

i'm pretty sure there are very few people on this site that wouldn't consider the ramones punk.. there are a few though.. which is odd.. i was almost in a band with a dude that tried to tell me that the ramones weren't really punk, and that blink 182 was basically the epitome of punk... he didn't care for the ramone's "bubblegum style" according to him.... hmmm.. sounds logical right?

No, he only did one. He was the brains behind The Ronettes, which was a big influence on Joey, so it makes sense that he'd want Spector to produce a Ramones record. But he's always been crazy.

He only did Let It Be. Paul loved his work so much, he re-released it as Let It Be...Naked, and removed Spector's trademark "Wall of Sound". He also re-sequenced the entire album, cut out "Maggie Mae", cut out "Dig It", and added "Don't Let Me Down". Also, his massive ego neccessitated changing songwriting credits from "Lennon/McCartney" to "McCartney/Lennon"....but I'm not sure if that made it into the new "album". I hate Paul McCartney.
