Kevin Lyman, creator of the Vans Warped Tour has announced a new winter festival tour
called the "Taste Of Chaos." Set to begin in February 2005, the tour will
be an annual event. Lyman has conceived the tour to be a multi-artist,
multi-media traveling extravaganza similar to the Warped Tour.
The first iteration of the tour will feature The Used, though additional bands and dates are expected shortly. Says Lyman, "'Taste Of Chaos' will combine amazing entertainment with value for the fans, something I've been a proponent of my whole career." "Taste Of Chaos" will be hitting arenas and ballrooms across the United States and Canada. According to Lyman, "Music will not be the only thing on the menu, there will be plenty to do, see, and hear. Fans should expect some interesting surprises!" Anchoring the inaugural year of "Taste Of Chaos" will be Reprise recording artist, The Used. "The Used scream diversity, equality, and a good time," says Lyman, adding, "most importantly, The Used preach their love of music during every show, and to have them launch this tour in its first year is more than fitting." The Used's new album, In Love And Death was released September 28, and quickly shot to number 6 on the Billboard Top 200 chart (and number 4 on the Canadian Top 200). The first single "Take It Away" is all over FUSE, MTV and radio. Currently, they are gracing the cover of two national music magazines, Alternative Press and Revolver magazine. In short, the Used are everywhere. Singer Bert McCracken says, "We've cut our teeth on the Warped Tour and we are really excited to be able to play in the first year of 'Taste Of Chaos.' Any time we can perform with other amazing bands and the kids don't have to pay all of their hard earned cash to see them is a great thing. Kevin Lyman is a smart motherfucker." The Used is currently on a headline tour of North America. Taste of Chaos (148 comments)

Wait, so why did he need to start a new tour just to showcase the same bands that play at Warped Tour every year? Or is this tour just going to take away the 5 or so decent bands that play Warped each year (see: the Souls, etc.) and consist of all the new "emo" bands? eek. 2+ Replies

Nice. Let's see if they can get some...you know...hardcore bands for this. 2+ Replies

This is the worst idea ever...Warped is possibly the lamest excuse for a punk festival ever and by the looks of it this will be even worse. Lyman is a fucking corporate whore now who obviously doesn't give a shit about the scene today. It's great that he decided to give an underground band like The Used the much needed publicity...all this shitfest needs now is a little Yellowcard... 9+ Replies

Does this include a pie eating contest. I know a lot of those fat girls that usually attend the Warped Tour would love this. 3+ Replies

I wonder, maybe this will be his corporate shitfest tour and gradually rebuild warped to its former glory. I can only wish... Well, that was a laugh. 2+ Replies

because major corporations need more traveling advertisements during that season...
Someone (October 13, 2004)
when did warped tour become less of a corporate concert and more of a really long commercial?

Yes, this effectively sounds like a taste of chaos. To the ears, that is. -Chinatown

I do hope you guys realize that you're commiting false-advertisement. Although Lyman is effectively the guy in charge of this tour, in no way is it the Warped Tour. I expect you to make a new icon for this by tomorrow. If not, I will call my lawyer and seek legal action against your site. Jason Tate jason.tate@absolutepunk.net 14+ Replies

First of all this isn't at the same time as the Warped Tour so don't worry about it competing and diminishing warped. second, if warped is "The lamest excuse for a punk festival" please tell me what the best multi-city, touring punk festival is. third, If you don't like Warped, stop going. hold on to your hard earned cash and support the local punk bands playing down at the teen center. 2+ Replies

i wish they would have a real punk fesitval with some less popular bands. a tour that has no corporate bullshit, doesn't play any venues associated with clear channel--put some leftover crack, f-minus, against all authority, propagandhi...that would be a fucking tour right there. it would be nice to see a punk show that doesnt cost 30 bucks and where im not harassed by security. 2+ Replies

This sucks... And after this year's Warped Tour I'll never go to another Lyman created thing in my life hopefully... Not because of the bands though, I saw a bunch of awesome bands this year, it's more because of the fans that are there...
Someone (October 17, 2004)

dude..i dont care what you guys think..warped tour was awesome and im excited for a similar tour in the winter...and i dont think it will ruin the purpose of warped tour...i think it will be a good thing for all the rockers out there! and almost as good as warped tour (minus the heat) ... oh by the way..the used are awesome to those who think otherwise :P 3+ Replies
Someone (October 23, 2004)
the used are on tour with atreyu right now and atreyu is rumored to be on this tour as well. this is going to be a great show. rumored bands: my chemical romance, thrice, atreyu. all you "trendy" faggots crack me up. you call us trendy but you're part of your own trend. the "i used to like this band but now i don't beause either they got too big or they sound different" trend. oh no, now you have to fund another unknown band to pretend to like until i discover it and then you say you hate it. hahaha, good luck at life.
Someone (October 24, 2004)
if you people hate it so much, dont post about it. punk is so big now youre not going to get anything "small" anymore because of all the damn poseurs putting themselves on mtv calling themselves punk. it sucks, yes, and if youre having that much of a fit about it dont whine about it on here...just dont go 4+ Replies
Someone (October 30, 2004)
The used fucking rock. I don't care what anyone says. And to the person who keeps wanting a hardcore band on this thing. Atreyu, just so you know is currently touring with The Used. So I hope this doesn't hurt your opinion of them. They are awesome too. 1+ Reply

the thing i hate the most stupid as-s poser radio girls fu-ck they kill every thing the used are the best mother fu-ckers
Someone (November 29, 2004)
bbbbbbooooring. you all know your just going there to be cool and so people think you like cool bands. my chemical romance is pretty much the new britney spears minus the tits. emopunk is not original. it is just the new pop music.
Someone (November 29, 2004)
I'm not going even though i love the used, because all the 14 yr old girls who go and think they are so hardcore. Then the 15-18 yr olds who think their different somehow from everyone else by listening to the same band as everyone else. They completely ruin the experience. go listen to the ashlee simpson, you know you want to.
Someone (January 17, 2005)
everyone who is complaining. screw you. if you dont like the used, my chemical romance, etc. then why the hell are you guys bringing it up? the used kick ass. my chemical romance kick ass. atreyu, isnt that hard core.& they too kick ass. if you want something "hardcore" why dont you all go to ozzfest? o wait...thats corporate too isnt it? psh. yall need to stop going to warped tour. &stop complaining. because youre making it a suck ass time with your "im so hard core" bs. get over it. | Features
