This weekend, Canada's CBC Radio 3 will be presenting a radio debate between Toby Jeg of punkvoter.com and Dan Jacobs of American Streak Records. The show will be airing this Saturday on CBC Radio 3, between 9:30pm and 10:00pm PST (12:30am EST)

That's correct, it's like the Canadian parallel of the BBC. (Though they have slightly different mandates and rules)

Thanks to CBC, I saw the original and cooler episodes of Degrassi High compared to new bullshit ones they show now. That show smoked Saved by the Bell so fucking bad.

toby was so hungover at CMJ when i saw him speak at a panel regarding on-air activism. I don't think it helped the group's credibility in the people's eyes who doubt it.

HUNGOVER! Stay your tongue Infidel! First of all, CMJ is a bullshit convention for industry nerds. Second of all, to be hungover you would have to go to sleep/pass out and wake up. I, however, never went to sleep from the night before nor did I stop drinking despite the panel being at 3pm the following afternoon. Yeah, we're a socially-conscious group of folks, but there's nothing I take more seriously than having a good time. On a side note, I got to meet Q-tip the night before, so I have an excuse for my behavior. You might be right, there could have been some skeptics among the 17 people in attendance and maybe I blew it. None of us have any experience with politics (that much is clear), but I think we've done an okay job. At least we tried... I'd like to know who wrote that post actually. I don't show up at your job and tell you how to shine shoes

I wrote that post, but haven't bothered with creating an account since i post so infrequently. Anyway, I think punkvoter through its tours and cd's did put in a good effort in promoting voter registration and what not, that's not what I called into question nor did I question how socially conscious you are as people-hey, you were fucked up that day. All I'm saying is that your being fucked up took away from how you presented yourself and punkvoter. That and the whole ecstacy/valium idea (I'll leave it at that). This has the poential to turn into some long drawn-out debate on the punknews.org message board, something I really don't want it to do and it doesn't really matter. So I'm just gonna leave my response at what it is and not reply any more to this thread. Oh, and for the record: I work at my school's dining hall, something far worse than shining shoes.

Ha, okay. You seem to be a good sport, and your observations aren't untrue. But come on, CMJ? Who gives a shit. It was funny, when I showed up that morning with a buncha beers the moderator was like, "what the fuck?!", and had a good mind to keep me off the panel. Hey, I didn't ask to be on the fucking panel, they asked me...anyhow, the fact that you don't want to get in a message board flame-off proves to me that you're a pretty sane person. I'd be interested to find out what station you're from, so you can email toby@fatwreck.com if ya want.

good golly, this is pathetic. whoever started that poser label has punkvoter to thank for any publicity they have gotten. like the article in the wash post where the kid that started conservativepunk and his dad are talking about what a great merchandising opportunity this is. a good conservative knows how to disguise their greed, but they never seem to be able to hide their stupidity.

I've come to the conclusion that bush should win. think about it, kerry is a no talent hack who doesn't deserve to be president as much as bush does. If we let bush into office for four more years, he will dig himself into an even deeper hole than he is already in with no chance at getting out. this will force a bad light on the republican party who will have no chance at winning another presidency in a long time, thus opening the gates to hilliary clinton and barrack obama. also, it will destroy bush's political career and possibly his career on the speaking circuit.
