Billboard is reporting that influential post-punk quartet Gang Of Four will reunite in January. The original lineup on the band, Jon King (vocals), Andy Gill (guitar and vocals), Dave Allen (bass) and Hugo Burnham (drums), have not worked together in this capacity since 1981, when the band was supporting their 1978 debut EP Damaged Goods and the albums Entertainment and Solid Gold. Gill did reunite the band in the early 90s with a different lineup, which resulted in the albums Mall and Shrinkwrapped.

Gang Of Four's name has increasingly been in the news in recent years, as they, along with John Lydon's Public Image Ltd., have been cited by critics as the foundation of the current dance-punk trend. Gang Of Four's first show of 2005 will be on January 23rd in Manchester England. They have five dates scheduled so far.
