Cursive to begin writing for next record

Cursive have announced plans to begin writing for their next full-length in late August through the Fall later this year. The band hopes to release the record through Saddle Creek in 2006. The album will follow up both their forthcoming collection of 7 inch and unreleased tracks, The Difference Between Houses And Homes (Lost Songs And Loose Ends 1995-2001), and 2003's The Ugly Organ.

Also, the cover art has also been posted for Houses And Homes. You can click here to view it. The album hits stores August 9th through Saddle Creek.

Off topic, but I had an observation today... I was listening to Keasbey Nights this weekend, specifically the title song and something kinda struck funny. So I listen to Streetlight Manifesto on the way to work this morning and I figured it out. What's with the lyrics (well, chorus) in the songs "Keasbey Nights" and "Point, Counterpoint" being so similar. Are the songs supposed to be associated with one another, and does Thomas just have a thing for writing about guns and vests and shit? I'm sure there's some metaphor I'm missing, but if anyone could clue me, I'd like to know...

Yes, Point/Counterpoint is a "sequel" to Keasbey Nights. For Streetlight's last couple tours, they actually combine the two songs together when they play it live. The play P/C, then at the very height of the song (during the horn interlude before the "I'm waiting by the phone but the phone never rang" part) they go right into KN and play almost the entire song, and right when that song ends they switch back and finish up with the rest of P/C. I've got a couple bootlegs of it, it's really cool. .I'll send it to you on AIM or something if you can't find it.

when I was 17 my friend told me to listen to Domestica when it came out, I did, and I hated every song. I really like them now though. once my friend said that he would bang the cello player "just because she was in cursive."

Remember learning cursive in elementary school? Has anyone actually used it since? What a waste of my young intelligence. The band however is nice, and this is joyous news.

I write letters and papers in cursive, but if I'm taking notes, I do it in print. My handwriting is near-illegible either way, but the cursive is easier to read.
