Blackout! Records has announced the signing of New Jersey's The Fire Still Burns. The band includes former and current members of Lifetime, Ensign and Vision and is described as "melodic hardcore punk [...] in same vein as Avail, Strike Anywhere and Rise Against,"
The band recently completed their six song debut EP, titled Keeping Hope Alive and it will be released in October. Some material from the band can be heard on their myspace and purevolume sites. Blackout! Records (35 comments)

Wooo! This band is great. And honestly, how could any band with ex-members of the aforementioned not be awesome? Somebody needs to re-issue Visions's "The Kids Have A Lot To Say" 3+ Replies

too bad for these guys. the band is amazing but i don't think i've ever read anything from a band who was happy with blackout! they are sort of like taang, all the bands seem unhappy after they are done with the label. hopefully it works out for them though 3+ Replies

so I guess this band doesn't care about who puts out their records...cause we all know Blackout!'s 'amazing' track record of late...that label should have died with the last KYI record they did... 2+ Replies

I pray that Blackout! doesn't ruin this band...because I think they're awesome. From what I hear (from bands that have worked w/Blackout!), the management are just shitty with $$ management. Nice guys, but can't run a label for shit and have gone bankrupt like twice. Oh well, here's to their success, I wish for nothing but the best for them. 2+ Replies

Blackout is a shitty label run by a shitty man. they sign bands based on the strength of their legendary NYHC back-catalouge, and then sit around and do dick-all about promoting the records. also....the fact that the owner of the label has both the time and inclination to respond to posts on a messageboard with such frequency is absurd. maybe they should work on putting out records instead of trolling the internet...... also....none of this should take away from The Fire Still Burns. 2+ Replies

man, there are certainly no shortage of haters here on punknews.org!!! i have a question for those that are so quick to criticize everyone- what exactly have YOU done for the scene, other than sit home on your computers and try to piss in other peoples lemonade? give it a rest...if you don't like something, then get out there and try to do something with your life and change the world to your liking.....
blackout records is a GREAT label, they have put out some of the finest and most influential records in the scene.
and the fire still burns is a band that i've come to know and love ALOT. they are doing a style that is quite needed in todays world full of crappy scream/sing "emo" and corporate-made "punk"- they are a breath of fresh air, and i think they are bringing hope back to the world with what they are doing.
best of luck to both T.F.S.B. and Blackout! and show rest of comment 1+ Reply
