Staring Back signs to Takeover

Takeover has confirmed the fact that Staring Back has signed to the label. The band had previously issued three releases via Lobster including 2002's On, their previous full length Many Will Play and their debut The Mean Streets of Goleta.

Whats up with Takeover signing every "kinda almost made it but really didn't because they weren't good enough" band from the latter half of the 90's and the first half of this decade? They didn't sell records the first time around, and they won't now.

Sweet, now if they can only put out another album before everybody leaves the band it would be great. "On" is probably one of the best albums I own, I've never gotten tired of it.

That makes sense. He/she said that they like it already. How is reading reviews going to change that? You mean to say that if you like a band or cd, & then read reviews trashing it, you'll change your opinion on it? Mindless sheep.

actually almost every review I've ever read about "on" went somthing like this... "this is one of the best albums of 2002 and I can't keep it out of my cd player" And it's true. That album is nothing short of brilliant, and I'm sure their new stuff is going to be insane.

Indeed, "On" is in my top 10 all-time as well. I believe their singer left the band though, so let's see what happens next.

THey got a new singer not too long ago And ON rules, don't write these guys off as another pop punk band, they're a hell of a lot better than that

I don't even really think they are a pop punk band at all. Pop punk sounds cheesy and generic, which they definitely aren't.

The new stuff isn't very pop punk. It kind of sounds like a mix between ON and Devin Townsend's OCEAN MACHINE.

I'm glad, Staring Back needed to come out of the shadows. Takeover is getting sweeter each day. (aka near miss being on it)
