Desa has updated their website with some news about movement in their camp. The band is currently in the recording process for their next album, however no release date or title has been announced. Their only show for the foreseeable future, at least until the album is finished will be at The Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on November 26th.

Also of note is the availability of their debut EP Demonstrates Birth, and purchasing options for their full length, Year in a Red Room.

Avi from Springman Records stopped by Mordam (the place that used to distribute our cd's) and found out that they were throwing a bunch of CD's in the trash. Among those CD's, copies of our first ep "demonstrates birth". Being the nice boy that Avi is, he salvaged them for us. We'll have copies of that for sale until we run out. We are all out of Year in a Red Room. You can mailorder one, because we do have a few around the warehouse, but it's basically done. If you don't have it yet and don't like mailorder, feel free to burn it off your friends, download it from iTunes (really, it's on there and we get like $0.60 or something per download) or steal someone else's copy if they aren't listening to it. All we ask is that you share it with your friends.

Avi sent us a note of clarification regarding the role of Mordam:

Desa's old label (Substandard) was dropped, and all their CDs were sitting on a pallet at Mordam waiting to be picked up by Substandard, but the owner of Substandard had not yet gotten around to doing it. I saw the CDs, they had been sitting there for quite a while, so I picked them up. Mordam did the right thing by NOT throwing them away even though they contractually were allowed to months earlier (but they let me know that they would eventually have to if they weren't picked up).
