Pacific Ridge Records has signed Showoff. The band split up after the 1999 release of Showoff, but regrouped 2003.
In the intervening years, band members formed The Fold and Farewell My Enemy.
The band will be entering the studio shortly to begin work on a new full length for release in late spring or early summer. Some material can be found on their purevolume page. Pacific Ridge Records (18 comments)

I think they broke up in like 2001 ... I saw them with the Juliana theory summer of 2001 at Wetlands.

i used to be a huge huge showoff fan, but i lost faith a while ago. FME was way beyond horrible. holiday was ok. these guys used to be a big deal. i wonder if they will be screamo? or maybe Emo? i heard that that is whats cool these days. maybe they will just be core. If there is any hope they will make something faster like their S/T but with their trademark pop sensibilities.

the fold is actually good. this showoff thing is starting to get embarrissing though. they used to be one of my favorite bands and stuff, there have been so many breakups and make ups and side bands and whatevers that is is just beating a dead horse. i once tried to like FME, played it in my car, on like volume 10, i would head bang and sing the songs in front of a former girl friend. the key word in that last sentance was "former". what the hell was I thinking? showoff you owe me a good record for such embarresment.

i hung out with magoo who i believe was in this band a couple years ago when he was a road dog with allister on a tour with less than jake he really jumped on a grenade for me and took my girl's UBF so we could convince the girls to stay the night in our hotel. i wound up getting one of the hottest pieces of my ass cause of that guy. so showoff (although i have never heard them) is fucking tops in my book 1+ Reply

Pathetic. I know and talk with Dave, the bass player who left in 2000, and he has nothing to do with it. In fact, it seems only Chris is doing it. Dan is now The Fold. Graham is M.I.A. Magoo the same. Dave relocated to Kentucky where he lives a quiet life with his wife, daughter, and dogs. I guess they all knew when to let it go. Now if Chris would just figure that out, the world would be a better place. 1+ Reply
