Rocky Votolato (formerly of Waxwing) has posted two new songs from his upcoming full length which will be released on indie Barsuk. The album is the followup to Suicide Medicine which came closely after the final release from his former band, Waxwing. That band released their final album, Nobody Can Take What Everybody Owns in 2002.
The album, titled Makers is set to be released on January 24th, 2006 and Rocky promises to follow the release with a national tour.

waxwing played their last 2 shows in december. there are only 2 new songs on myspace because the 3rd one accidently got deleted. You can hear the 3rd new song at barsuk.com and yes, rocky is great.

It is strange that this record is so good considering how mellow and even paced it is. I thought some of the slower or over the top ballads on Suicide medicine dragged the upbeat songs down, but its exactly the consistent more restrained pace of Makers that makes it great.
