Cursive details release

Cursive has announced the track listing for their upcoming record Happy Hollow. The album is the first since the departure of cellist Gretta Cohn who's instrument was a fixture of the band's 2003 release The Ugly Organ.

Prior to the release, the band will play a number of U.S. shows in July, followed by appearances at Lollapalooza in Chicago and the FM4 Frequency Festival in Salzburg. It is set to arrive on August 22nd via Saddle Creek.

10 percent to the 10 percent was a horrible song i thought :/ ... it's just not there musically. this coming from someone who likes every cursive song produced. hopefully it's nothing like it

it really depends...
if i feel like chilling out with a few friends and some cheap wine, the Good Life works for me. if i'm already drunk or driving in my car, Cursive is more pleasing. Ya can't listen to the Good Life drunk. You'll end up crying.

I love folk music, but Cursive wins that battle. I think Cursive is one of the better bands at what they do, but there are folk bands that do similar things to The Good Life that are much better than The Good Life.

I just picked up the Ugly Organ and loved it, what other Cursivealbums would a more experienced listener recommend?

Domestica is savage. Get that album. It's all about the "The Lament of Pretty Baby." That song got me into them in the first place.

Domestica is a classic. The Storms Of Early Summer is tougher to get into, a little rough around the edges, but probably my favorite Cursive record.

my first was the burst and bloom EP and i still think it's their best work. domestica is pretty fuckin' rockin' as well. the older stuff is harder to get in to, but there are some gems in them. "ceilings crack" being one of them.
