Rx Bandits reveal release plans

After months of speculation, Rx Bandits have announced that their upcoming album, ...And The Battle Begun will be released on frontman Matt Embree's MDB Records on October 10th. Though the retail date is in October, the band is promising to have advance copies tentatively by June 25th for their headlining tour.

The album follows the band's 2003 release The Resignation and their Live: Vol. 1 DVD in 2004.

there is so much traffic trying to hear those songs on that player right about now, I bet it has nothing to do with Internet Explorer.

i think a few Los angeles/orange county stores carry mdb releases, but for the most part you have to mail order. its cheap and efficient through their site though. it never takes too long (to deliver in cali at least)

but now that they are releasing the rxb album, i dont know what might change between now and oct, mayb some sort of distro

even the hip hop is...well, ok, but i am very picky about hip hop and dont like alot of it in general

yeah, on purevolume it says a preorder will start june 27, and thats way too early to be a preorder to be shipped in october, they will prob try and get them shipped asap (or at least his mom will if he is on tour)

I've tried to enjoy this band so many times but it just doesn't click for me. I like the name, their song titles, their art, and what I've heard of their live show, but the actual music doesn't really grab me.

Also, am I the only who gets a Sublime vibe from them (especially the voice)?

Earlier in their time as a band Matt was a huge fan of Sublime seeing as RxB was one of the many So Cal Ska bands that formed in 96/97 and they had that vibe in their early records, but progress and beyond don't remind me of sublime at all.

As a resident of So. Cal...I can say it's all apart of a Long Beach area vibe...Seal Beach (where RXB is from, Matt Embree still calls SB home) is just south of Long Beach...there are many local bands that have a dub-ska-reegae sound even today...but especially in the mid-late 90's...

Worth the wait, but does it really take 4 months to physically create and distribute an album? It seems as if they've recorded all the songs judging by the available track listing. I don't know much about the record industry in that sense, or is taking so long just because its on their own label, which is fucking awesome; good bye shitty drive-thru.

they are having it available at shows and mail order at the end of the month, as far as distribution though, to get it in stores, yes, it could take up to 4 months

Actually, I went to an RXB concert at Penn State and spoke to the bassist (the only member I don't know the name of) after the show. He made the process sound like hell, so I guess they had a lot of llittle problems along the way.

Those two songs are amazing... as expected!
THis is going to be one of the greatest (if not the greatest) ablums of 2006 by far!

the impact of of progress that they wanted to convey through the song writing maturity of the resignation will finally come together as one in this album.

i really dont see how they can break through if they are on their own label...i mean, i am 100% happy with the change of labels, but is "breaking through" really possible? do they even want a "break through" album?

i think he means this one is really gonna grip everyone and catch everyone's attention. and it's a perfect time for it, since they're releasing it on their own record label. they'll have alot of room to keep doing what they do best with the success of this record, which will be 2006's best i believe

Sounds good. Don't know why they put the last track on the album for download though.

Am i the only one who can't stand listening to Progress anymore? I used to love that album, but it sounds so lame these days.

kind of. i wouldnt say "so lame" but its definately a dated sound for me...i never listen to the album straight through, but i usually dont skip the songs that come up on random on my computer either.

Progress was the turning point for RXB as in the transition from thrid wave ska to the experimental dub sound they boast today. I have a lot of great memories assoicated with that album so I can be a bit biased when it comes to it....but, I still love listening to it...

Now the album In Between Here And There...now that sounds dated and silly...that's my opinion though...

progress for me, withstands the test of time. the earlier ones are definetly dated and silly, but progress definetly has some gems. when i listen i find myself skipping Get and sometimes Status but thats it

I'm excited to listen to these songs when I get home, at which point I will probably become very excited for this album.

And to address a previous comment...
I don't think Progress sounds dated at all. I guess it would depend on your personal taste, but I still think Progress is the best album they've done, and that's not trying to take anything away from all their great releases.

Fucking fantastic

I definetly find myself enjoying several tracks on the new tsoaf. i was disappointed at first, but i'm digging it like crazy now. i could do without craig owens though, and some of the static and opera crap i find unnecessary. a little more anthony green i think would be nice, and wasn't that the guy from Days Away on track 10? terrific track
