Tours: Hawthorne Heights, Nintendo Wii at Nintendo Fusion this fall

Details have been revealed for the upcoming 2006 edition of the Nintendo Fusion Tour. For 2006, the tour will feature Victory Records heavyweights Hawthorne Heights, Relient K, Emery, the Plain White T's and The Sleeping.

Of course, since it is the Nintendo Fusion tour, the video gaming company is planning to also bring some of their new game consoles along, including the much anticipated Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS Lite, both of which will be previewed at stops on the tour.

The Fusion tours previously took on such headliners as Evanescene, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and others.

Racket "Magazine" has an interview with Silverstein that makes them out to be cool guys.

Mind you, Racket specializes in trying to make an ass out of pretty bad bands.

are you guys actually surprised that people can be nice guys and make shitty music? or make music you hate? or be signed to victory?

i would say the majority of bands i have met (granted, i dont meet millionaire rockstars) have been cool guys, and the dickheads transcend genres and labels

Most of those guys are good people; I've met a handful of bands who spend all their time talking about "markets" and sales numbers, but those are definitely the exceptions. Bands like Hawthorne Heights and Silverstein are really cool people.

Silverstein are some of the most solid dudes I've ever met. Billy and Paul have impeccable taste in music, and Shane runs a great label, too.

The Wii will be the bee's knees, if only for the first party games, but I'm sure third party developers will have some innovative ideas with that controller.

The DS Lite is amazing. I've never played a PSP, but I can't imagine it's better than the DS.

well my friend, i suggest you pick up a PSP because it blows the DS out of the water.
and this is coming from a diehard nintendo fan, ive never owned anything by sony or microsoft(expect computer software of course).
the only major consoles i own are from nintendo, and i can still tell you that the PSP is so much better than the DS

What is everyone's addiction to Nintendo? Gamecube sucked balls, just admit it. Sure, Mariocart is fun, but come on, the PS2 knocks that shit clean out of the water.

N64, however, was so rad. I could play (and literally did) WCW/NWO Revenge for days.

I love the way that game was nothing compared to Quake and most of the other pc FPS games, but people still swooned over it.

First Person games on consoles = Suck. They should only be used for platform or racing games.

Dude, I loved that game but it was messed up because all you had to do was get em out of the ring and use the chair and you owned that match.
Honestly, I own/owned none of the newer systems (X-Box, Game Cube, PS2) but we had a video game exhibit at the museum and some of my favorite games were on game cube. They did what they did really well. Fun games with solid game play that weren't too damn expensive. Sure the graphics, and music weren't as good as the other two main systems but I think Game Cube found a really good market and ran with it. It would have been foolish to try and take the PS2 or X-Box on head to head, let them battle it out for the top of the line, too expensive for what it does market and Nintendo can swoop in on the under $100 market. Fantastic business plan.

The original Nintendo is one of the very few games systems I play anymore. I've got the original Mario series, Metroid, GI Joe, Ghostbusters II, Tetris, Batman, Double Dragon II, and Ninja Gaiden I and II, among others. I really need to buy Punch-Out!! and Zelda.

I wish this piece of shit GameTap thing I got online would function properly. I really want to play Hydro Thunder and Crazy Taxi.

Nintendo's first party games are better than PS2's and (especially) XBox's. PS2 is certainly in second, but with XBox, if it weren't for Halo/Halo 2 that system would have sunk. Although I'm sure others will beg to differ, games like Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, the Mario sports titles (Kart, Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Soccer), Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and so on, are all amazing. Add to that the exclusive Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 0. Heck, even Resident Evil 4 was supposed to be a Gamecube exclusive before it was released on PS2 (and the title won Game of the Year for most major video game publications).

Also, the graphics are better on Gamecube than PS2.

Gamecube is more powerful than PS2.. This generation it goes PS2 - Gamecube - Xbox. Next gen Wii will be the least powerful, however.

i own a N64 and a GC and i think they are both great systems and im getting a wii when it is relesed ps3 looks like crap and is to expensive and the xbox 360 is underpowered new games on pc like UT2007 wont even work on the 360 and run on the ps3 on low settings so im just gona upgrade my pc and get a wii its all u need

..I own Hawthorne Height's cd. And I like two songs off it. The rest is crap, but come on now... "Niki FM" and "Ohio Is For Lovers" are bloody catchy as long as you don't listen to the lyrics too closely, because they're just too irritating even for me.

Actually, I find all of those bands to be amazing. For those who have never heard of them, here's some good songs from Relient K and Plain White T's that'll get you snapping your fingers.
Relient K- Who I Am Hates Who I've Been, Be My Escape, Mood Rings
Plain White T's- Hey There Delilah, Fireworks

Try them out, you just might like the songs ( Nothing really emo in there, no wrist cutting or blood singing, Relient K is a christian rock band and Plain White T's are just happy in general)

The Wii is going to destroy in the next console cycle. PS3's already declared their demise with that rediculous 599 price tag, and the XBox just doesn't have the brand name recognizablity as Nintendo. This is going to be a huge turning point in the history of video gaming. Be prepared for some of the most creative games ever.

Also, Hawthorne Heights sucks.
