Powerman 5000 have unveiled the new video from their upcoming album, Destroy What You Enjoy, which is due out on August 1st. You can see the clip for "Wild World" here.
Destroy What You Enjoy follows up the band's 2003 album, Transform, where the band shed much of their nü-metal leanings in favor of a punkier sound that is compared to latter-day music from Billy Idol and fellow Bostonians Explosion. It is their first for label DRT Entertainment. The band also released a 2005 compilation of rarities entitled The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Vol. 1 DRT Entertainment (58 comments)

Here's the thing, they had one hit album that was released forever ago. Then they spent all this time with label troubles and saying they were working their next album to complete their "grand plan". More time passes, less people care. 1+ Reply

Isn't one of the dudes in PM5000 brothers with someone in another band? I dunno. Maybe I heard wrong. 3+ Replies

is there a link to the old powerman 5000 radio hit? like a music video?

I'll admit it. I like this band. Mega Kung Fu Radio was a fun record. I'm kind of curious about this new one since they've pretty much changed their sound with every album since then.

These guys peaked when they were on Beverly Hills 90210 and had Tori Spelling dancing like a whore to their music.

I guess there is little money in nu-metal, but lots of bucks to be made playing the "punk rock." Kiss my ass, Powerman 5000.

It's no "When Worlds Collide," that's for sure. Not bad, a bit generic, but I have a certain tolerance for this stuff thanks to Fsicherspooner and the Killers. I'll probably stream it a couple of times, but not worth money, that's for sure.

Powerman 5000 loves jumping on whatever trend they can... rap-rock, Rob Zombie influenced rock, nu-metal, and now pop-punk.

The singer looks like billy idol. Powerman 5000 playing this style of music makes me feel weird.

I saw their drummer (who else would carry around a PM5000 bass drum head) at LAX not too long ago, and all i could think was, "they are still aorund? what was that one song they had? 'when worlds collide?' is that what it was called? eh, who cares?"
